I understand that you’re in love with Apple but all I did was speak the facts. I can also post research by several sources, including Apple admitting that it’s true. But I’m not going to waste my time. And I like Apple too but I must acknowledge the safety issues are real.![]()
With pacemaker simply flip the iPhone
Apple recommends keeping the iPhone 12 and 13 at least 15 centimeters away from pacemakers, raising safety concerns among people with implanted medical devices. A study conducted by Thoralf Niendorf’s lab at the MDC, along with researchers from Charité, shows these fears are unfounded.www.mdc-berlin.de
They'll be fine. Forgot 15cm distance, that's just Apple being overly cautious- testing showed at 17mm was the real cutoff point. Which means with the current Qi2/MagSafe standard there's no safety issue posed by the phones themselves.
Edit: As for accessories, I can't judge, as the Qi standards people hide the tech specs behind a pay wall, so I don't know if there's limits to how powerful the magnets in accessories are allowed to be, or just minimums they must conform too. Similarly, as far as safety goes, I don't know if minimum thermal thresholds and wiring standards are also stipulated. One would hope so...
I’d give my left nut for a Pro MiniThey're already too big! Stop it.
Some of us just want a pro mini...
Check my posting history if you think I love Apple. Just don't go posting bogus "facts" that have been debunked, especially not on the topic of heath and safety. If your "alternate facts" were true people would be dropping dead all over the show 🤦♂️ 15cm range would cause a problem almost every single time they used their device in bed, pretty much. Apply some grey matter...I understand that you’re in love with Apple but all I did was speak the facts. I can also post research by several sources, including Apple admitting that it’s true. I miss the mini except for the battery life. I have never complained about battery except for mini. At 6 months it was at 88% and Apple ran diagnostics telling me this was completely normal. Was kind of a bummer. This is upsetting. I’m going to use my mini until it crumbles to dust.
iPad?Sounds like I'm gonna be waiting for the 17+.
I don't need the fancy cameras. I just want a bigger screen.
Totally. One advantage to the Pro was that it was slightly smaller than the non-Pro, and it's still a bit on the large size for a normal human hand. Make the Max the giant-screen phone, but I think lots of us would like the non-Max Pro to be a bit smaller and more elegant. They’re going the wrong way. I’m not an iPhone mini stan, but the regular size is too big. I think 5.8 or 5.9 would be a sweet spot for me. The iPhone X was 5.8” and it felt sliiiightly too big too, but if you give me the more modern design of today’s iPhones and small bezels, with that screen size would probably be about right.
Seriously? Upsetting is losing your child or your job or a loved one. This is just a replaceable phone that no one is being forced to buy.Phones are a big part of people's lives; we spend hours on them each day. Those of us who prefer smaller phones will at some point have to upgrade. And many of us really appreciate the Apple ecosystem, so it will be difficult.
Imagine if mattress manufacturers stopped making firm mattresses.
Absolutely. And for whatever miniscule amount of space it would take up, I’d happily sacrifice a little battery life if they promised to keep the smaller pro equal with the larger pro on camera features. I want that tetraprism zoom but I’m NOT dealing with a phone that big. If it meant sacrificing an hour or two of battery life for the extra space taken by the camera, I’d make the sacrifice. I have tons of opportunities to charge at home, work, car, etc. And in rare cases where I won’t have those chances, I’ll bring an external battery.Totally. One advantage to the Pro was that it was slightly smaller than the non-Pro, and it's still a bit on the large size for a normal human hand. Make the Max the giant-screen phone, but I think lots of us would like the non-Max Pro to be a bit smaller and more elegant.
I'm not belittling more severe suffering that people go through. I've lost people in my life. I still say that it is understandable for people to be upset over there being no non-android smaller phone available. And even amongst Android options there are few and not too small either.Seriously? Upsetting is losing your child or your job or a loved one. This is just a replaceable phone that no one is being forced to buy.
Same hereI have a feeling my next phone (which will be in a few years, just got a 15 Pro Max) will be a non-Max variant, as by then the size of the non-Max will be as big as the Max is now.
Seriously, pockets aren't getting any bigger, and neither are hands. Why do they keep bumping up the size of the phones? I've already reached a point where nothing more than my phone can fit in my left pocket; if it were any bigger I'd have to get one of those dorky belt clip phone holders that were popular in the 90s.
