It's a complete mistake. Just go with a goldilocks approach already: S, M, L and then make adjustments based on those ranges. Its simple. I bet if you charged more for the mini, people would pay it but the better selling phones should subsidize the other sizes IMO.
Yep. Agree 100%. IMO, the Pro = Bulky strategy and design language is a huge mistake that might attract new Android and one-device buyers; but will ultimately alienate those of us who bought into Apple’s “three-screens” strategy. I hope they reverse this uninspired, transactional strategy before they’ve exhausted the goodwill of loyal long-term customers.

That is probably the lowest usage I've ever seen 😅 Do you have a separate work phone? Those numbers are enviable
I work from home on a provided Windows laptop, and my job doesn’t require a phone. For my personal life, I use an 11” iPad Pro (in a Smart Folio with a Mac Magic Keyboard on the desk) for almost everything.

If I’m watching a movie, the iPad is next to me on the sofa, not the iPhone.

That is very exciting, and a beautiful phone. However, there is no way I would pay that much money for something so easily damaged by a fingernail: OnePlus Open Durability Test - JerryRigEverything

I can’t wait for that inner screen technology to be more durable, I’d love to use one of those. Perhaps Apple is waiting for someone to improve the durability?
Yeah me too. The soft glass on the inner screen is my biggest build-related turnoff. Advances in that technology is what Apple needs for it to be a worthwhile venture.

I opted to upgrade early from the 14 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max because it is noticeably lighter, shorter and narrower. It is a more pleasant experience to use this phone. The 16 Pro Max seems very much like a lurch in the wrong direction for me. Bigger and heavier. That’s gonna be a no for me dawg. I know Androids are using the 6.9” screens but these phones are becoming unwieldy.

But if you get rid of the camera bump, you get rid of the space.
The common understanding is that with current tech it is impossible to make the cameras smaller, so the phone would have to be thicker, thus it would have more space inside to accommodate a larger battery.

I am a little woman with small hands and a large purse. I say the bigger the better, bring them on! 😁

Oh, size queen are we? lol love it 💪🏾

Sometimes bigger is not always better. This year I purchase an iPhone 15 pro, but purposely stayed away from the Max because it was too large. Honestly, I do not want the phone to get larger.

Hardly, what I would consider innovative.

Man, this is all such a personal deal. I’m five foot nothin’ with trump hands and could never be not pro max since this 14 my first max (technically, although I have had and love forever happily ever after the 8 plus, as that would be considered the max version of that iteration). However, my boy out in Paris who is a 6 foot somethin jui jitsu freak swears by the pro size lol

All my mini folks hold your heads up! I hear ya and if Apple were under my total and complete you all would get at least bi annual updates!

Go Sox, boston the best. Peace.

I'm glad I got the 15 Pro max. I really don't want anything bigger than it already is. I may have to downsize to non-max next time around and hope its not gimped in the camera department.

No camera is no go, for 99.999999% of smart phone users. There will never be a iPhone without camera.
Sadly this is true. But we don’t actually buy phones anymore. It used to be that you bought a cell phone that could take pictures, these days we buy a networked camera that has the ability to make phone calls.

I am needing to upgrade my aging iphone 12 pro max, with its battery life now down to 87%. I like to go for the 16 pro max, with a slightly bigger and brighter display.

But i hate the dynamic island and prefer the notch as its less visable. Also I doubt my battery can hang on till 2025 for the iphone 17 pro max.

Decisions Decisions!

To be honest, I find my iPhone 15 Pro Max still too small, despite Apple increasing the size in comparison to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

But I'm not that dude who upgrades his phone every year, so I will stick with this iPhone 15 Pro Max for a few years despite being interested in a bigger phone.

You need to just get a cellular iPad mini.

Half the cost and it’ll be bigger. 😂

Well, ****. I’m sure many will enjoy the new sizes but for my money, the 13 mini is perfect. Can’t say this is good news to me

Very true @Iwavvns . This is partly the fault of the carriers who seem to have given up on their legacy as the trusted source for *communications* services and systems (including the phone) .. and are instead trying to be the next Netflix or Google. In the process they have become bystanders and pipe providers in an industry they pioneered — ceding control to parties who are largely unworthy to occupy such a trusted space. As a result, 90% of the calls I receive are SPAM so I only answer calls from known callers. This definitely reinforces your point of the phone becoming primarily a networked camera.

In principle I hated the Dynamic Island too, but the way it's been utilised is actually quite good, really surprisingly
