Probably going to come out when the jailbreak for the 3rd Generation iPhone comes out.
And please don't say "hurry up", they're working hard every day. It might not even be possible to unlock 3.30.0x.

I didn't mean it literally! ;) I am sure they are working very hard, which of course I appreciate...

I had the same problem.

I solved it by getting them to turn off 'reply requested' in their txt options.

Iphone error with OPTUS - error sending message

Hi had the same problem - phoned worked for about a week, then - in the middle of sending ten messages, it stopped sending - coming up with the error message...

I got it to work again, by going to "settings" then turning "airplane mode" on (effectively turning the phone to invisible from the mobile company).

Then I switched it back on again - it had to reconnect to the carrier again... then I pressed "resend" on the messages and bingo - it worked.

One random thing though is that the phone automatically changed the incoming SMS notification sound to the same one that it uses when the message is outgoing... ? bizarre...

Cheers

Optus iPhone SMS Not Sending

OK... The above post I made was only a temporary fix (as I found out).

Turning onto flight mode helped, but not completely. Plus, I didn't want to have to do that every day!

So - after speaking to an Optus (Australia) tech person, and doing a full reset of the phone (holding home button and on/off button for about 10 seconds till you see a white "apple" symbol on the screen...)

It worked.

But then it didn't again.

Turns out that my SIM card was from 2006, and the iPhone likes "newer" sim cards. I went to a local optus store & they changed the SIM card to a brand new one... (at a cost - which you can redeem from optus)

The difference? The contact plates (goldy coloured things) on the back of the new SIM card were slightly different in shape, and that's pretty much it.

Now it fits, perfectly - and I have way better reception than before...

Yeh. Hope that helps you!

Cheers

I'm using an iPhone 4 and I can't message to just two contacts. All others work fine.

They're the two people i message the most.
Have tried all the solutions mentioned above but problem persists.
