I have recently tried to sync my iPhone with the music App in order to upload some new tunes. Only to be greeted with the following message which is quite nonsensical to me.

And that my iphone is a 64GB model.

Has anyone encountered the same issue.

Well, here is the thing. That second picture is your Mac's hard drive storage capacity, not your iPhone's. To check how much space you have left on your iPhone go to:
  • Settings > General > iPhone Storage
That will give you your iPhone's storage capacity and a breakdown of what is consuming your space.

The error message signals a space issue on the mac's side.

Here's the breakdown anyway:

Are you trying to sync using the Music App? Also, you do know you can arrange your music in the iPhone without the need to sync right? Or are these songs ripped from CD?

One piece of information that I may have left out is that the iPhone is currently synced with an earlier version of my music library, therefore in my understanding, the latter data has to be deleted in order to sync with the new library.

Not that I know off... it should work regardless.
