Hi Friends
I m also facing the same problem. The only difference is Whenever I m trying to restore the custom 4.2.1 it gives me Error 23 & Screen (iphone) turn white. I tried to restore on 3 different computer with window vista and window xp. but the result is same.:confused: I have iphone 3g baseband 6.15

Did you get your issue fixed, OP? If not, try it this way:

Boot into pwned DFU mode using Redsn0w, hold shift while clicking restore in iTunes, and restore using this firmware for the 3GS or this one for the 3G. Once the restore is complete, install Cydia using Redsn0w. Once that's done, turn off the phone and use Reds0w for a tethered boot.

This is basically the same thing as the guide you linked to, but a bit more streamlined. You'll find variants of it all over this forum by searching for "iPad baseband restore".

hey i can help you.

1. Phone stuck on apple logo, and make sure its plugged in

2. launch redsnow

3. select tether right now, press next

4. okay now the tricky part, turn off the phone with home and power button. as soon as it turns off, press the next button on redsn0w and do the dfu procedure.

i had the same problem and it worked for me

Yeah, I have to do that every time I reboot or it will not get past the apple logo.
