CrunchGear points to an interesting looking stylus from Japan that allows you to more precise movements than your finger might allow. Flickbook/FlipBook users may have this need.

The stylus is specially designed for the iPhone which typically only responds to finger touches due to its capacitive sensor. The $14.99 stylus is available from ThinkGeek.

If you draw a lot of sketches on the iphone I bet this would be useful though.

needs to be smooth movement though.
 
I would buy one for my iTouch. Might be due to the fact that I have minor OCD, and I freak out when i start getting greasy fingerprints on it.

I must have OCD as well because I wipe my iPhone clean of smudges probably 10-15 times a day... Basically every time I'm done using it I put it to sleep and wipe it off with my shirt until there aren't any smudges. I just thought that was normal...
 
This product does nothing but perpetuate the myth that a fat finger can't be accurately mapped. Great. It tempts me to create a YouTube video of typing with my big, ugly toe. I wonder if I could get 30WPM from a toe?

I've never understood this. Don't these people realize it is impossible to hit two keys at once no matter how hard you try? I just typed a sentence using the entire flat part of my thumbs. Yeah it was harder than normal but if you fingertips are as fat as my entire thumb then I am guessing you are used to working with them by now...

That's not really his argument - he's talking about the iPhone thinking you want "s" instead of maybe "d" or "a" and the larger your finger the higher the likelihood that you won't hit it *exactly* where you should. That's where the smart dictionary comes in handy I think. I type all my stuff using two thumbs and I undoubtedly make plenty of mistake but it fixes virtually of them for me.
 
I can see some people wanting a stylus if they do a lot of fine drawing. BUT for drawing I wouldn't want it to flex, and I wouldn't want a wedge-shaped end that I had to pay attention to and hold at a certain angle. I'd want something with a point, even if it's a largish and soft point.

That said, it's easy to criticize when I haven't tried this. I just see the pics and don't like the idea of drawing with it.

The SIM tool is a nice touch.
