rogers website is down when you try to get into the iphone plans and even when i try to get into my billing area!
Yes, their plans dont match up with what apple or the customer service guys tell use half the time on the phone lol.
I saw this on Rogers website,
" For a limited time, if you subscribe to a data option which includes at least 1GB of data transmission between June 8, 2009 and December 31, 2009, you may use tethering as part of the volume of data included in your option at no additional charge. Tethering cannot be used with data options of less than 1GB."
Looks like they only give tethering to new users.

True, unless they just won't support it on launch. Glad Fido is still getting it since now I'll be grabbing an iPhone in the coming months

Fido better offer me upgrade eligibility or something close - the prices we're hearing for those not eligible are just ridiculous! And to think that we sign up for 3 year contracts too... I mean I pay $120+ a month... ughhh - I spoke with a rep on the phone though and he sees no reason why they will not allow tethering. Also, on Howard Forums the word seems to be that tethering = a go.
Last year though, Fido allowed non-eligible customers to upgrade to an iPhone for about $100 more if I'm not mistaken. They should do the same this year.
As somebody else noted, just about everyone in Canada who wants an iPhone already has one. I think sales will be poor if they lock out all the current customers. Oh, and I bought my 3G on July 13th and I've been told my account only showed upgrade eligibility as sometime in January, 2011!!! Grr!

do u see the option? or is it completely missing? i just upgraded to the GM release and saw the mms camera icon and tethering option. you might have to call to set it up, but it is there
I'm on rogers with the GM release, but the tethering option (settings/general/network/Set up internet tethering) give me the message "Set up internet Tethering - To enable tethering on this account, contact Rogers". So I am assuming I have to tell them to turn it on, or that they will turn it on June 19 with the official release of 3.0 and the 3Gs

And notebook80, I never got a text saying anything from rogers about 5 extra bucks for MMS, if I get my bill and it sky rockets this month cause of all the MMS messages, **** is going to hit the fan.

I've got the 6GB data plan. I'm curious - how do you set up tethering for a Fido account? I'd love to use my own laptop at work and avoid using the restricted access to the network.
