To reply to the OP, my G2 does exactly what you described your iPhone doing. Thankfully, tunein radio does it too. And then there's being able to turn on/off wifi by just tapping the wifi icon in the home widget (although I usually just leave it on).

I like that my iPhone remembers volume settings for multiple headphone devices. Volume goes all the way up when I jack in to the work stereo, then back to a comfortable level for my headphones.

I'll go with you on that, and the iPhone is really the best looking phone out there - they are really really really really really nice phones and I wish I could have one in white.

Lately I really dig the Voice Memo where something comes up when you're recording and you just pause and go do some tasks, play games, reply emails, cooking your dinner and comeback to your phone and continue recording the same session like there isn't any disruption at all.

Not yet but there is potential.
