i was hoping for a BR sighting, always makes me laugh.

Apple's performance is second to none. They have REINVENTED a whole industry again, and the iPhone takes the lead as the iPod and the iTMS did and continue to do in the music industry.

In other words, MS IS DEAD. AND SO IS DELL. Congratulations, Apple!

not sure why other BB model's aren't included and not sure how they based their data, otherwise these mean nothing. BB still dominates the iphone in the US and Nokia dominates all world wide. This is just flame bait

Agreed. I manage a cell phone store and you would not believe how many people come in and still ask for a RAZR. It makes me want to cry.

I think it's amazing... :p But the later generation RAZR models were never as pretty as the original. If the body of the original V3 had a real phone in it... I dunno, off all my old cell phones, my magenta RAZR is the only one I ever miss (not often, mind you).

Folks, there's a reason why US broadcast networks are dumping the flawed -- and some say, outright crooked -- AC Nielsen company's "ratings" system in favour of a more fair, more technologically updated rating systems of their own.

You take the fragmented RIM lines and put them all together, they once again spank Apple. 6.3% if my math is correct. You can also put all the LG fragmentations together to equal or greater the number of iPhones (suprsingly, 6.4%).

What, did, Apple pay for this survey? lol There's a reason commercials have fine print in the bottom.

To be fair BB has a 5 year lead on Apple. I think in 5 years Apple will be 2x market-share of BB.

Which one of those top 10 phones in that list was running Windows Mobile?

Obviously there are too many WinMo models for any single one to make the top ten, which apparently requires a bit over 3 million individual model sales in a year.

But if we merged all the USA WinMo owners together (7.1 million per comScore), then they would make up 2.6% on that chart, which beats the RAZR.

A slight surprise to me on the chart is the number of Storm sales over one year... 1.4% of 271 million USA phone owners is 3.8 million.

Look at the dates. It is only from Jan-Oct. The 3GS wasn't even available until June. It hasn't been available long enough to produce enough data to make that list.

Thanks. I did completely miss that.

They are actually doing decent. Windows 7 says hi.

On topic:

I like how out of the top 10 phones 4 of those phones are Verizon Wireless phones. (not counting the 8330,8130).

if anything, this study is unfair to the iphone! it only counts the 3G iphone and compares it to entire series of other phones like the blackberry 8300 series. I wonder what the tally would be like if they grouped both iphones currently on the market togeather.

People still use a RAZR? I never seen a RAZR here for like... umm.. 5 years.

Nokia and Sony Ericsson are no where in the list... But why is that a problem to me. (j/k :p)

I had a RAZR for 4+ years...when it died is when I switched carriers and got the iPhone.

That's why I mentioned in a previous post that people are tied to their 2 year contracts...and many, like me, just keep on going once the contract is up...for a variety of reasons such as great coverage, cost, and a working phone that, well, is a phone.
Imo, it's more because of the provider locking scam in the US. Let's compare this to Asia, where contracts exist too, but the phones are unlocked. I have not seen a RAZR in Asia for years. People laugh in disbelieve when I say we are still using the RAZR in the US.

Who the heck are these people who actually use Yahoo??
It's great for a free e-mail address which is not spam bait like Gmail.

My yahoo address I have had for over 4 years. During that time I have registered that address with a minimum of 100 web sites and companies and I get very little spam (less than 20 spam messages per month). Though I suppose the actual technical spam number is zero as these are only e-mails from sites I have created a user account with or made a purchase from and have not yet opted out from e-mails.

My Gmail account has been around for less than two years. I have sent about ten e-mails to three friends from it in that time. I have never once signed it up with any website or company. I get over 100 true spam messages each month though I have never replied to any of them.

The irony being the Yahoo address I set up to be my junk account that I target for spam while the Gmail was intended as a spam free personal account. As I only need to look at the top message for an order confirmation or activation link when creating an account on a web site.

No Useful Conclusions

You know what' sad? The fact that the RAZR is still at number 3.

I'm still using mine. If I change now it will be to a Droid as I have Verizon.

Actually look at the numbers, it looks as if LG beats them all. But with only the top 10 listed it is very difficult to see who has the lead. With lumping together it appears as if the author had a set end conclusion & then had to split his data to get that conclusion. This is why some say that you can prove anything you want to prove with numbers.
