May we ignorantly assume that the same might be true for O2?
I'm afraid I don't know for sure - however, I suspect this could well be the case as CW are getting them as fast as they can from Apple, rather than the standard delivery times, so I think it's reasonable to suppose O2 are in a similiar position.

A couple of people (friends/old contacts) at CW advised me of the abve - haven't been able to get similar details for the O2 guys I know, but I'll keep trying!!

Good luck, most shops I know of that sell phones usually get stock on wednesday or thursday. The O2 people are usually relucktant to give you information, and when you show them information they just ignore it.

Didn't make this clear - and I apologise - but the stock I was referring to was to fulfil (at least partially) the orders of customers who had ordered an iPhone, which hasn't been delivered to their home address. I did not mean stock that is then sent to individual stores - as I say, sorry for not making this clear but as I was responding to ryanmanu's post that was talking about home delivery, I assumed I didn't did to labour the point. As I also said, CW (and I assume this applies to O2) are trying to get stock as quickly as possible - if this is sooner than when they usually get stock, they're going to take it.

As for my contacts, I used to write extensively about mobile phones and wireless techologies, was involved in events/projects that networks such as O2 used to sponsor and I've mantained contact with quite a few people.... it's not a case of me walking into a shop, but getting old colleagues to talk off the record - some do, some don't.

After a week and a half of being "in progress" I've just got an email from O2 confirming delivery and a DHL tracking number. Hopefully everyone else will be getting theirs soon too.

16GB. It does still say "in progress" on the O2 website actually, but now there's DHL information and a dispatch date of today I can only presume things are moving forward!

I've got no change to anything yet... no tracking number, no email... it's a patient game this. :)
 
still in progress. spoke to O2 and they said they were allocating in order of the time of order (if you know what i mean). but that is BS cos i order at 8.46 in morning and still have nothing. They said their next delivery will be on friday.

Yeah.. my order went through at 08:09 last Monday... It was the credit check that delayed everything for me :(
 
i wouldn't be so pissed off, if O2 actually took responsibility and contacted me to say my order has been delayed and when i could expect it. It is the lack of communication that gets me, because i could have cancelled my order and got down to one of the stores like i originally planned to on the 11th.

yep same here. After week and a bit in progress, today it's Complete on O2 website with tracking number. Actually says dispatch date 15th July but tracking number doesnt work on the dhl website yet so :/
 
I got notification that my iPhone -> iPhone 3G upgrade had shipped yesterday. However, DHL didn't pick it up from O2 until this morning. I'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow.

Ordered at 2.45pm from failover.
 
Just had notice that my order is ready and will delivered next working day (which I hope means tomorrow)

So they seem to be processing orders one by one... there's hope for everyone yet :)

Got my completion notice yesterday and now DHL says out for delivery! Shame there is no one home though!

Bit gutted as i was just going to cancel and hold out for an upgrade to the white one, nevermind.:(
 
I just got a confirmation email from o2 saying it has been sent ( I already had ANOTHER reserved in store but because of the systems they couldn't put it through until today so JUST before I was going to go to the store I got the email).

It got sent at 8:45 today and the status is picked up and it says O2 - customer location. Should I be expecting it today? Or tomorrow?

Tomorrow between 9am and 9pm is what my message said today - because a12 hour window is small enough :p

I'd assume that yours will also arrive tomorrow....
