I can't believe you guys are still waiting how annoying is that???

If it's any comfort, my mate who bought his from an o2 shop at 9:30 this morning still hasn't been able to activate it, and might as well have waited in all day for DHL.

Hope the last ones trickle in shortly. iTunes seems to be on the mend which is good, as I had 2 dead phones at one point this afternoon. Scary place to be.

IT ARRIVED!!!

sorry...13 hrs after out for delivery it arrived!
some wirey haired b**ch in a blue escort brought it.
I casually said "Busy day?" and she said "No, I don't like driving during the day so I just did some shopping and played with my new phone"

I nearly killed her right there and then.
Anyway, off to unpack it.

*fingers crossed for the last few, thanks for being there with me*

i shouldn't be getting mine until Monday according to my 'remote' postcode but i called DHL just before 6 and the guy told me it's been passed to the independent agent and will be with me before 9.

still, if i was reading what i see on my tracker most recently...

Out for delivery - 13.52
Released to other delivery agent - 13.52

...i would've said the same thing. so i can't be sure he's right.

i got my phone about 5 hours ago and stll cant activate it to use it im really stating to get p*ss off

Could you define "activate"?
the reason I aks is, mine arrived...barely, tonight.
I put my regular o2 sim (from me 1st gen iPhone) as there was no sim in the pack or 3g phone.
I hooked it up to iTunes which game me "itunes error -4) a couple of times, then my speakers made that mobile signal noise and the battery icon popped up.

I can now use all the applications and even have a 3G signal.

the odd bit is, when I plug it in to my machine to sync, it still gives me a -4 itunes error so I can't sync....but I can track myself walking around the street.....not that I tried

Bad times

Mines been showing as out for delivery since 7.30am, changed to independent about 10am and I still have no new iPhone, it's 9pm nooooooo! Do they do Saturday delivery??

Mine arrived at 20:00 and the driver said that no she hadn't been busy today but she's a taxi driver and only starts at 19:00 hours. If I'd known that I wouldn't have taken a day off work. Morons! Phone's up and running now though.

Mine was finally delivered at 8.30 (cutting it fine!)

I asked the lady if she had had a busy day, and she said i was her first delivery?! ARGH pity i did not know that earlier!

Managed to connect to iTunes and set-up straight away so am now good to go! Hurrah!

grrrrr

I still have no new iPhone!

I called dhl and they told me il have to wait until Tuesday. It's been showing as independent delivery since 7.30am yesterday and they told me as it was not delivered yesterday they will have to wait till Monday to contact the driver and can only arrange delivery for TUESDAY.

If I was a bunny, I would not be a happy one. =[

Feel your pain - I think this DHL home delivery service is rather reliant on the 'average Joes' doing it to supplement their retirement. My phone arrived at 8AM Saturday morning. Having worked from home on Friday especially to receive it and continued to wait at home until 21:00, I felt within my rights to ask what happened to my Friday delivery. My response??? - It was raining on Friday night and the lady DHL agent doesn't like driving in the rain!!

Rather amateur outfit in my opinion though I like the idea of the service.

Anyway - hope you get your phone asap. :apple:

The problem that a lot of delivery companies are having (not just DHL) is that there is more and more demand for out-of-hours deliveries particularly in residential areas where many people would prefer an after-hours service.

It's not cost-effective for them to keep so many full-time delivery vans/drivers on the road as yet so they outsource to PT drivers who tend to only work 'out of hours' and route the residential packages via them. The problem comes where someone does take the day off to be there and then it doesn't show until later. It would be less of an issue if they could flag this up front so that people knew when it should be expected. There are a few companies now that 'know' where they expect to be at given point on the route so will text the customer to give them a clue. We just need them all to get to this point so the night before we have a 'window' in which to work.

My iPhone 3G is sitting at my local O2 shop. I had to leave it there because they couldn't process my upgrade because of system problems on Friday and Saturday. Today I was told the system was still down, but after a bit of investigating the actual truth is that the system is back up, but that the O2 shops have been told they must not process any upgrades until the paperwork from Friday has all been entered on the system.

I was 3rd in the queue on Friday, having got there ridiculously early, and now they're making me wait until they've processed everyone elses paperwork. I'm furious with O2. Various complaints to their customer services haven't helped.

I saw on the O2 forums that someone has set up a web site for people to tell their stories of how O2 messed up the iPhone 3G launch.

http://www.iwait.co.nr/

I've posted on there. I'm stuck with O2 because they're the exclusive carrier in the UK and I'm unwilling to jailbreak my iPhone, but I'm all for making O2 pay for their terrible handling of the iPhone 3G launch.

Still waiting on 2 x 16 gig Iphones (one for me one for my girlfriend) , Not heard a peep from o2 , dont know when were going to receive :( Our status is still "In Progress" Anyone else still waiting on delivery or any sort of confirmation from o2 ?

A fair few people have been told that they're next getting 16Gs in this Friday. This is from my email from them:

The 16Gb iPhone is expected to be available with us on 18 July 2008. Your phone will be dispatched to you as soon as it's available with us.

After your order is dispatched from our warehouse, you'll receive an automated email about the dispatch of your order.

it's information I've heard a lot too. Perhaps there's some truth in it... we'll see come this Friday :) It does seem to be the most likely date for the next shipment

apparently CPW get their shipment on tuesday(today) or wednesday, plus max 2 days shipping, latest should be friday (one week late!!! "Guaranteed next day delivery" pffft!) and earliest wednesday

It should be tomorrow or Thursday when the stock is received by CW.

Also, for those who don't already know, customers who paid the Saturday delivery charge but didn't receive the phone that day are entitled to get the £15 refunded and - drum roll - a whole £5 as compensation. Something similar is in place for those who expected their iPhone to be delivered on the 11th.
