The iPhone 18 Pro Max will break records. But maybe due to not having the base mode or AIR like last year at launch.

I think the biggest question surrounding the foldable iPhone is whether it will support true multitasking. If it simply offers a larger display without multitasking capabilities, I don’t see much point in it. So, does iOS 27 finally introduce multitasking for the foldable iPhone?

The foldable iphone ultra would be tempting for me ONLY if the apple pencil pro worked with it. As an artist, my ipad pro is my main device, but i also have an ipad mini for when i really wanna travel light. It's the perfect size digital sketchbook for doodling when on the go. So if i could combine my iPhone & ipad mini into one device, that'd be great. If not, it's a no go for me.

I just expect this phone to flop HARD. The only ultra i see is ultra expensive. To be honest, the design sucks. No special cameras to justify that price. And we all have an ipad. But not even ipad os on the inner screen. But maybe its a well deserved flop. They need to do better than this

Yeah, like (wow, it's almost 20 years ago now) when the MacBook Air was first introduced. I'd see all these Slashdot posts from people comparing their 1.5" thick, 8 pound HP laptops to the Air and saying incredulously "My laptop easily matches the specs of the Air for almost $1000 cheaper! 😛

Disclaimer: I'll never pay $2000+ for a phone. I'll probably never (again) pay even $1000 for a phone. But I imagine there'll be at least a small market for this device. Samsung certainly has thought it's made sense to keep iterating their version.

I predict this device will sell better than the first gen air and replace the iPad mini for many purchasers.

I won’t ever buy another iPad after the first one. They aren’t good value for most given their price and limited utility, even with iPadOS 26 multitasking.

When this device is being sold second hand if it is as robust as it needs to be many people (including 13 mini owners) will gladly pick it up then. I won’t be paying a premium price for it though. The depreciation hit isn’t worth it.

I have a feeling the iPhone Fold is going to be like $2500 and will require app updates to take advantage of it that developers won't do because the fold will make up 1% of the iPhone market worldwide 😕

I've worked on many commercial apps and iPad accounts for 25% of traffic in some cases yet nearly all of the companies I've worked with refuse to do a dedicated iPad version. And honestly, most iPad users are just fine with an enlarged iPhone experience from what users have reported.

I’d never consider a phone without a wide angle lens. I’ve rarely used the telephoto on my current iPhone (maybe a couple of times).

Well you f it comes out in November then it will only be on the market for 10 months && at the rate I’m a just wait for the improved 2nd generation.

There are over 10 million adults in the US who possess more than $5 million in assets, and over 80% of them use iPhones. So plenty of people for initial sales of a $2,000+ phone, with no need for the rest of us.

Just accept that there are a lot of wealthy individuals who can afford this. The device isn't for everyone, but there is clearly demand for foldables.

I can afford this phone easily. Doesn't mean I want to drop the cash for it. We'll see if the demand meets the crazy costs Apple is likely to attach to this foldable.

Vision Pro = loner goggles + hip battery pack + no killer app

iPhone Ultra = iPhone (proven success) + iPad (proven success)

How do people even confuse the two?

I can potentially justify a $2000 price point if it can replace my iPad Pro and iPhone Air. I'd need full external display support with it and Pencil Pro support would be nice.

I’d also prefer to have it fully useable folded. I’d likely daily drive it like that (as a mini-like iPhone), and unfold it as needed at work or home.

I’d much prefer to manage one device over two.
