if you unlock your phone before you pay off you contract, your phone will be blacklisted and carrier restricted here in usa , and possibly europe and other places that adhere to the imei blacklist agreement. best to talk to att , and tell them what it is you are trying to achieve, most cases they will help , they dont want to lose customers.

That is completely false information posted above.

I dont know why you made the post - and it seems like neither do you.

Read his posts and check the dates.
At first he says he's trying to unlock his AT&T iphone but keeps getting denied because he's still under contract.
Then days later he says he's been looking online for alternate solutions like unlocking websites and he found swiftunlocks and his phone is now unlocked.
His issue is resolved and his post/thread is helpful for others that in the future might be stuck in a similar situation.
Thank you for your input.

@Applejuiced:

Let's deal with the dates and times to clear the picture.
This person joined MR on Friday at 5:32. First post with the question was on Friday at 5:35. According to his post #11 he ordered the unlock service on Friday at 12:00 and his phone was unlocked on Friday at 21:00.
For the record, they are not a scam. I went with swift unlocks. I ordered their AT&T Premium service for $12.99 at 12pm on Friday and my phone was unlocked by 9pm Friday evening. I tried other SIM cards and everything works perfectly. Also, every question I asked prior to ordering was answered very quickly.

Where do you see "days later" here? In the light of the above mentioned, do you still beleive that his "post/thread is helpful"?

Maybe your time settings confused you with the time zone differences from Belgium if that's where you are set at with US eastern time where my time and date settings are displayed.
I'm usually good at spotting fake or made up handles and threads but this one I think its legit.
And in the end is the thread helpful?
I think so, in the future it could save some people some hassle, money instead of paying an ETF fee and aggravation with dealing with AT&T.
Just my thoughts on it.

Most probably the misunderstanding derives from the different time zones we are in. Nevertheless, the fact remains the same as the time intervals don't change, i.e. we can't talk about "days later".
I am always sceptical when it comes to newcomers with first posts like the one in question (or the rants).

I did reads his posts. Color me skeptical.
But I think Ulenspiegel and you hashed out the "timeline issues" so its all good. And yes, maybe others will have a similar positive experience with Swift from this thread.
