I got a free nano sim from tmobile (upgraded my micro to nano). The micro sim in my old ip4 registered no service now since tmobile activated my nano sim. I then put the nano sim in my ip5 and it registered tmobile. Is your sim an activated sim?

No, it is just a blank sim that has never been used. I have a Tmobile hotspot and the person i bought it from sent me a blank sim to use, but I already had one.

Not sure.
Mine said no service and after 10-20 seconds Tmobile popped up.
If the phone was still locked it would have said invalid sim I believe.

Earlier when I asked about the behaviour of locked vs unlocked phones, you'd said that mine was locked, and it did not give me the "invalid sim" message. Mine said "no service" with what looked like the setup grey screen. So it would seem not all locked phones give the invalid message? Or am I missing something? (Could be, long night with a teething baby!)

ok i tried another unlock for an iphone 5 for only 4 bucks and change. hope it helps!

I can confirm that unlockfusion worked for me on my iPhone 4. They sent me the code about 4-5 hours after the purchase. I did a restore in iTunes which upgraded me from iOS 5 to 6. I tested at home with a Vodafone Egypt sim that I picked up while traveling for business. I didn't see any error messages but didn't have service either. I took it to the tmobile shop today and had service with one of their cards. I'm hopefully selling it to someone on cragislist tonight.

I'm debating unlocking my new iPhone 5. I don't have any imminent travel plans but you never know if the unlock door will get closed or if I'll suddenly have to leave the country. I can't see any downside. Why would AT&T want to cancel me or charge outrageous fees if I'm still paying the monthly contract?

i wish it worked for me :/ til this day, unlockfusion has NOT replied/refunded me for my last unlock! that guy is rude

Used unlock_fusion to unlock my iPhone 5. Went on a week long trip outside US and worked like a charm. Definitely worth the eight bucks I paid for the unlock.

Your choice.
Thousands of others got theirs unlocked from him with no probs.
Unless you're trying to advertise your site here with both of your posts linking to that site. You dont trust ebay and a seller with thousands of positive feedback but you trust just any random site.
Sure....

i do trust ebay, just not him. i know he has thousands of people that rated him and used him but look at the negative feedbacks too .. not just me it happend to

That's your choice.
No one is forcing you to do anything you don't want.
With thousands and thousands positives you will have some negatives also. Look at Apple. You can't make everyone happy.
You are here with 2-3 posts promoting your unlock site so it's a little bit of conflict of interests;)

The unlock_fusion guy's eBay listings have a weirdly-worded warning about scammers and people with 0 feedback. Says he will refund your money and report you to eBay (also some threat about your IMEI).

Does this mean someone with a new eBay account (i.e. 0 feedback) cannot buy from him?

I know it's normal to be confrontational on eBay, but all the red underlined text warnings are kind of a put-off for anyone wanting to do business with a seller on eBay. But at least he didn't make the text blink :D

Questions about IMEI unlocking...

1) Can I unlock without having a different SIM? I would like to use my iPhone 5 for an upcoming International trip. But I do not yet have a SIM card from another carrier.

2) Can I continue using my current AT&T SIM while at home? AT&T is my current carrier and I am not at all interested in creating a contract problem by unlocking.

Yes. To both.

I heard you can unlock the AT&T iphone 5 by simply clicking restore on iTunes.. anyone know if that is true?

That's if you buy the iPhone5 commitment free

Bought another unlock from Unlock Fusion ($3.92). Took an hour and six minutes to process from the time I paid for it

Okay, so if I buy an iPhone 5 for full price from the Apple store, I will be able to unlock it by clicking restore on itunes?

can someone link me to the correct unlock_fusion ebay product to purchase to unlock my brand new iphone 5? I used them to unlock my 4s, but i can't seem to find the iphone 5 unlock and don't want to purchase the wrong one...

ANd does anyone know if this works for all carriers outside of the states? Like unlock_fusion's method? thanks

Yes, once unlocked it will work on any GSM provider around the Globe.

I assume it's unrelated, but I paid unlock_fusion for an unlock last night, got the message it was done this morning, and did the backup and restore just now.

Only problem is that after the restore, the phone failed to boot. The Apple appeared for a sec then the screen went black. Not recognized in iTunes. I waited about 5 mins then tried powering on- same thing. Unplugged the usb cable and tried powering on- same thing. The Apple appears for a couple seconds then disappears. Help?

EDIT: Never mind, I put the phone in recovery mode and downloaded the firmware and that seemed to fix the boot. Maybe the problem was the firmware wasn't downloaded. After the firmware was restored, I got the message that the phone was unlocked- awesome!

Another excellent unlock_fusion experience. Had my iP5 unlocked in 3 hours. May have been faster if I have had started the process earlier in the day. Nonetheless, a very smooth transaction.

Wanted to put my $0.02 here and share another successful unlock_fusion story. Got an unlock for $4 (ended up being free after eBay Bucks) for my iPhone 5 on AT&T (U.S.). Within 24 hours got an email from unlock_fusion, backed up and restored my iPhone 5, and got the unlock message on iTunes.

Haven't tested it yet, but I'm going to pick up a T-Mobile PAYG nanoSIM and test it out.

While we're speaking of unlocks, I've got a UK iPhone that I bought secondhand online with a broken screen for cheap, with the hopes of repairing it and selling it, and the unit is blacklisted on Vodafone's network. After doing some sleuthing, the phone isn's lost or stolen (which is a big relief), but was blacklisted probably due to the phone bill not being paid. Can't use it in the States, since it's carrier locked, so it's being used as a glorified iPod touch. Anyone have any experience unlocking UK/Vodafone iPhones?
