Apparently it's 73 degrees and sunny wherever the Apple Phone Show is based.
Did anyone notice the new symbol next to the batt. symbol at the top, it's like a little phone. Was it there before? If not what is it?

Yes, it has. I always thought that was a nice touch, wish the CLOCK icon showed the right time as well, but I suppose that could be forgiven as the time is always shown on top.
This was a LONG process - needed a restore (assume this is normal for an update?) - then needed to re-sync everything (at least it does this from a back-up.)
I'm an iFuntastic fan - I added ringtones, rearranged my icons, changed the AT&T logo to anlogo....IT WIPED ALL THAT OUT.
Wiped out all the extra Weather cities I had entered.
Wiped out my default mail.
Hmmmm....I guess that's what a RESTORE does, eh? Wonder if you can update the iPhone without doing a restore? The process seemed to force me to do it....
Kinda bummed....

Yeah, see my post above. I used iFuntastic too, had to restore mine as well. It's syncing 6GB worth of data now. Glad to know to I am going to lose my mail stuff etc.![]()

Seems to be running ok for me (about half way through after only a minute). I'm running this on a mac. Are you on a PC maybe?

How did you know you had to restore? Did the phone display it or did you just not wait long enough? Just curious for future reference.
Why would you lose your mail stuff? My mail is always in sync with what is on my exchange and pop3 accounts. I wouldn't lose any mail if my iPhone crashed, I'd just have to re-sync it.
My update ran quickly, maybe 3-4 minutes on a Core Duo iMac. Working great!
As you can see, I'm celebrating 5 years as a macrumors newbie!
