Carriers are giving out free upgrades? I know many people who upgraded in the past year because of that.
I really doubt USB-C drove more than 1% of the sales.Apple finally got rid of awful lightning connector, so no wonder people want to jump the ship
Yeah, the latest iPhone 16 has practically the same design as the iPhone 11. An honest name for the iPhone 16 would've been iPhone 11sssss.I used to upgrade every 2 years for the new design when they had the “s” updates but now it pretty much looks the same every year so I don’t feel compelled to upgrade that often.
Unfortunately, those are usually the big major cell carries.Carriers are giving out free upgrades? I know many people who upgraded in the past year because of that.

Nothing in life is free. They just pay for it differently.Carriers are giving out free upgrades? I know many people who upgraded in the past year because of that.
I don’t really get the connector hate
I have USB-C and lightning devices and I enjoy them both
Same boat here, would love a mini with USB-C. I’ve moved all my other stuff over, replaced my hearing protection for mowing/snowblowing to a usb c one and gave my dad the micro USB one I was using. THERE is a connector that needs to die.Agree with that for sure
I'm probably just not concerned with that as it'll be a LONG time before I can do that given all the Lightning devices I have in daily usage right now (some with no upgrade path .. like iPhone 13 Mini)
That’s the only reason I changed from 13PM to 15P. If I hadn’t been able to get rid of lightning, I would’ve stayed on 13PM for this extra year. I had no other complaints about the device making me want to upgrade.I only upgraded for the USB-C charging port.

Hmmm…
"36% of those who purchased a new iPhone during the period had owned their previous device"
"the percentage of users who kept their previous iPhone for three years or more declined slightly, falling to 33%."
That's 69% keeping their phones either longer or shorter than 2 years. What about the other 31%? Do they keep their phones exactly 2 years?
You’ve never tried to plug your device into the wrong cable? Sooo annoying. I finally have all my devices on usb c both at home and at workI don’t really get the connector hate

"Practically the same design"..... ???
How exactly is that? Because the back cameras are lined up vertically?
Ironically, I'm hoping for my iPhone's battery to degrade more, sooner rather than later. It's currently at 82% and I want it to degrade to below 80% this year. Apple often has just a small window of battery replacement support for their iDevices. They generally will NOT upgrade the battery if it is above 80%. However, they will also often NOT upgrade the battery if the device has been discontinued for more than 5 years.Let’s not forget bloated iOS burning through everybody’s aging battery
