Okay all we need to discuss this!! If the details are appealing I am changing my mind about upgrading this year. What do you all think of the new program?

Need more info. I'm assuming you have to turn old phone in before buying new one? Definitely intrigued though.

It looks like you can basically just pay $31/month for eternity and get a 16 gb "big" iphone every year. Obviously that includes trading in.

It looks interesting, and might not be too bad of a deal, I'd have to figure out how much you lose versus selling each year.

Yea I was thinking of upgrading another line to at&t next for $27
But this seems like a better deal $31 and you get Apple care + plus is unlocked

Do you get to keep the phone if you want after its paid or do you have to return it next year ?

Does this mean I go to Tmobile, buy iPhone and then go to Apple and buy this plan? If so, what type of plan do you buy from carrier? I'm confused

I'm also intrigued by this. Hoping for more info very soon. I have gotten every single new iPhone since the beginning by switching off upgrades between mine and my mom's line. If this makes it easier than me meeting someone at a local Starbucks to sell my "old" phone and upgrading contracts and blah blah, then it may be worth it. Wonder what the price would be for a 64 GB or 128 GB.

No you already have

a carrier plan and just buy the phones from Apple directly

If you have only paid 12 months, you surely do not get to keep it. That is the "upgrade" program. They get the phone back and you get a NEW phone. The open question is - can you pay it off and keep it.

Curious as to how tmobile is going to respond... back when prepay was big in the US a Tmobile was the superor prouduct. just crappy service... that was back then though

You pay Apple for the phone and it's unlocked, then you pay the carrier for the service, now you are paying the carrier for the hardware and service.

If one gets the option to pay the phone off and own it out right, i am going with this instead of the carrier.
