I'm planning on upgrading to the iPhone X (whenever it comes out) and am currently on the iUP with my 7+. The screen is in good condition but, has some small scratches (only seen at a particular angle) as does the back of the phone (Jet Black!!!!). There is also one small (only a few mm across) paint scratch down to the aluminum. Will I need to pay for any repairs or are these just seen as normal cosmetic damage?

If anyone is having similar concerns, Apple support has informed me that damage that does not cause any issues in normal use of the device is generally considered cosmetic damage and likely won't incur any fees. That said, they did inform me that since they couldn't do a full inspection over chat, this is not a guarantee of any sort.

I've been told that as long as the phone is in a working condition with nothing more than cosmetic damage they'll accept it.

If there are issues, you simply pay the (AppleCare+ subsidised) fee to fix the damage as you trade in, but you won't have to wait for the work to be done.

if the screen is damaged (cracked or chipped on the corner) then i would incur a repair fee, but still be allowed to trade in ?

Scratches/scuffs don't matter. As long as the screen has no CRACKS, all buttons work, phone itself works & no signs of liquid damage, you'll get the full value.
By "full value" you mean the sum of your remaining payments, correct?
