Really I have been doing it for over 6 years now and I always sell the Phone within 2-4 days Max. Usually within 48 hours I lock up a deal and within 24 hours we meet and make the sale. I also have money and can afford to just turn it back into apple or the carrier but when look at how much extra I can make it, it just makes me go ahead and sell it on my own and pay it off instead of turning it in.

I think the area you are in makes a big difference. I’m from a more rural part of the US and it often took considerable effort to find a buyer, usually for less than half of what I paid for the device. For me, the only money I’m losing is for the AppleCare, but the fact that you only really have to pay for half of it is really great
