iPhone vs. iPod Touch

You're not hacking anything...it cannot possibly be consider a hack when tools like winpwn is available.

Get your facts straight and make your decision. iPhone first gen is far more useful than the touch, and if you get one with warranty, you are likely able to swap for a refurbish one anyway.

The build quality of the iPod Touch seems to be much better overall than the iPhone. No cracks and no light leak (unlike the iPhone) Feels solid and well made (unlike the iPhone)

The iPhone has marginally better battery life according to Apple, but in real life the 3G only gets close the promised battery life if features are turned off. I don't have any battery life problems with my iPod

The iPod has the same screen size and resolution as the iPhone. Some might say the iPod actually has a better screen because it doesn't have the yellow tint of the iPhone's.

The iPod is "internet in your pocket" too. And it's free internet, I don't have to pay thousands in subscription fees to get it. You can use >90% of apps in the app store. I use it most often in my house where I have wifi, so I can surf the internet on it just as easily as I could on the iPhone. It's not worth thousands of dollars for me to be able to connect to the internet in the times I'm with my ipod and without wifi.

The iPod Touch is a much thinner iPhone with only the phone features taken out and twice the storage available. If you don't need another phone, it's perfect.

exactly. i would love to have the iPhone 3G or even the old one, but you have to hack it, since I use TMOBILE in the US. So to ubersalad, yes it is considered a hack. But for me, I'm just a teen only 14 years old, I'm getting the iPhone 3G later this year in December.
 
There's no yellow tint on the iPhone 3G, that issue was exaggerated. I've seen a few iPod Touchs before, and from what I've seen, its' just a cheaper version of the iPhone made out of worse materials. Yeah, if you've seen the iPhone 3G and the iPod Touch, you would realize how bad the screen on the iPod Touch. I was surprised when I saw my friends' iPod Touchs as how worse the screen was.

When you're away from wifi, which I am most of the time, $70 a month for data plus voice isn't a bad deal, it really is a different experience having the internet everywhere.

That's just my $.02.

the screen is the same... my friend's got an iphone (1st gen) and my other friend who has a 3G, they screen differs by a little. not enough to prove you exaggerate point.

and $70 a month is for 450 minutes. I have 2 lines and 1000 minutes for $50, sure I don't get fancy stuff but its a phone not your life or something after all.

you know what? just b/c im 14 doesnt mean Im not as smart. I probably have more computer knowledge and experience than you. If unlocking/hacking the iPhone is hacking, then what is it? Tell me that. And I did make my decision, I bought a refurb ipod touch about half a month ago. So get YOUR facts straight as well as yourself.

well this was my thread until you came along. so you insulted me first. and you're a sad person, b/c you just lost basic logical arguments to a 14 year old, who according to you is very stupid and of a lesser intelligence.

and being 14 rocks. I don't lose arguments to humans about 1/4 or so or my age. or argue with fake evidence. just to prove you're stupid assumptions, I am active on macrumors.com since the age of 14, and you started from when? lesser intelligence my ass.

yea lol, i'm turning 15 in a few months. just a few months of being awesome 14. and since i'm in a good mood, im ignoring that self-claimed ubersalad.
