Recently traveled withy iPhone X and am extremely disappointed. Always on the verge of dying after only moderate use - whereas my friends with their 8+ cruised through the day. Nearly died on the trip home which would have been a huge inconvenience. Unacceptable. My 6+, 6S+, 7+ never, ever died on me.

Anyone else feel the same way? Plus next time for sure.

I´m getting around 8-10 hours usage until I hit 10% battery, so I can´t really complain.

Same as nearly 9 hours most days. Best is 10 hours usage. That's not trying to manipulate the usage either.

8 hours of usage for me with the X before it’s down to 1% or so. I had an 8 Plus for a week and I would get 10 hours of usage with that one. I thought everyone knew that the X had pretty much the battery life of an 8.

Battery life on my X has been absolutely phenomenal! I couldn’t be happier. I usually take the phone off the charger at 6am, use it all day including videos, constant social media, podcasts, Spotify, etc..... and at around 11pm when I go to sleep I still have around 20% left.

However I recently travelled to Amsterdam and battery life was significantly worse but I’m going to assume that’s because my phone was roaming on foreign networks all day. Once I got back home it was great again.

You're charging it wrong....sorry.

What do the battery settings say has been draining power, directly or in background?

Browsing kills it fast, oled doesn’t like white backgrounds, no where as good as a plus.

Call end 81%

Single call

3h 45m straight

On my X.

Is that not insane?

Well, sorry but this is a fact. Of course, I missed to say, I am not using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and similar garbage :)

Usage: 10 hours and 53 min
Standby: 61 hours and 37 min

Guess I can't complain :p

To all guys that are so happy about "exceptional" X battery life - usage time means nothing :) Show "on screen" time and what apps you were using.
My own experience is that battery of X is at least 30% worse than 8 Plus (and most of all, I'm using my phone for browsing).

Of course usage means something. It doesn't mean everything, but it still means quite a bit.

not going to lie.. my battery life hasn't been the best. I mainly use my phone to text and instagram. I get around 6 hours of usage with location/background app refresh ect disabled.

Its insane to have a call that long lol. My average call is 5m or less. Long distance gf?

Na. School friend. We regularly do long calls. I talked for 7+ hrs with him yesterday. 3h 45m was just a part of the call. :)

I'd wager the percent of iPhone users who do not know how to check this is fairly high. ;)

The iPhone X has, by a WIDE margin, the best battery life I've ever had on an iPhone. And the battery is holding up better over time as well. Probably because I'm not charging it from 0-10% every night—more often around 40% +/- 10%. From what I've read, modern lithium batteries do better when you don't completely drain them every day. It probably also helps that I have better signal strength in my new office—though it did have better reception for the few months I had it at my old job.

No. I’ve had plus sized phones ( iPhone 6 Plus ) , regular ( 7) and the X and all the phones lasted the whole day off the charger unless I’m using games of videos for a substantial amount of time. I keep my phone around 50-60 percent brightness and have Bluetooth and WiFi on most of the time
