This is silver color and it looks bright white. The camera sticking out looks strange in this color.

I was always on the fence on color because I want to either match my SS watch or go with my fav color - my mind is still unchanged.

BTW - I was the same way last year with matte vs jet with my i7 + - I didn’t decide until preordering opened and then at 12:00am I made a decision

Agreed. Which is why I kind of like the throwback look of the white. It's very much different from what Apple is labeling it just as silver.

White is better than Silver. This is the colour i wanted my iPhone X in. So i'm happy its white on the back and black on the front.

I was hoping for this when the first leaks happened months ago.

Just walked into the local shop and saw the 8 in person. I’d really call the back of the 8 silver white. Somehow I thought it’d be a proper silver like the original iPhone.

Don’t get me wrong , it’s still nice and I’m probably still going for it just because of the black face (I’ve only had darker iPhones because I can’t stand the white fronts ) but , I’ll be honest here I’m suddenly having second thoughts.

The space grey 8 also looks superb.

Want a pic? There’s a space grey 8, matte black 7 plus and jet black 7 right next to each other. Sg is definitely not as dark as my matte black but the glass back on the 8 does give it an interesting look. Really quite sleek actually. Either color would make me happy but I’ll end up going with the silver for the x. Reminds me of the original or the 4s

No my decision hasn't changed. I'm still getting the "silver" model. I actually like the fact it's more white then Silver looking and it makes it look more stylish.

I don’t know how to describe it. It’s not white. Not silver. Light grey? Got a bit of a creamy look to it it as well. The space grey on the x would look (from a distance) the same as the 8. If it’s important to you to stand out I’d grab the silver. With the polished sides and black front it’s going to be a very attractive phone.

Have you had a white iPhone with a black faceplate? I do like it but it’s not going to look like the silver of the original iPhone that’s for sure

Apple hasn't left me with many warm and fuzzies with their dark colors after the joke of Jet Black.

I go back and forth. The first time I saw the silver on the 8 I really like it. This weekend I checked them out again, and I actually liked the black more this time =/

For me, black is the safe bet so I will probably go that route.

I saw a comparison pic here somewhere. Probably from the keynote with the 8 and X silver options side by side. I don’t *think* it’s identical. Pretty sure I remember thinking that the X silver was a shade darker than the 8.

It’s pretty much the same as the white back of the silver 8/8 Plus, which I have. If I was going for the X, I would be going for the silver. Love the white back with the SS edging.

Just I'm wondering on which X colour and not sure if there X space grey, I know noone actually knows yet, but from hands on if it's fingerprint magnet, would be prone to scratches?

Is the X silver the same colour as the 8 silver?

There must be some slight variation on a phone by phone basis. I swear the 8 I saw in person was nowhere near as white as it looks in that photo.

Because all these photos are taken under different lighting conditions and at different angles. None of them will look the same as the other.

Different lighting ? The one I saw was in an Apple store fully lit up (probably like the shot above) looked pretty much the same shade of white as the pic. Maybe it changes in natural light.

I have the jet black, and I have never had it in a case.

There are some micro scratches, but nothing bad at all, and nothing you can see without really looking. It is a fingerprint magnet, for sure, but a quick swipe down my shirt takes care of it.

It looks sleek as hell, and I am still happy that I waited for it (though my wait wasn’t long at all!).

That’s why I wish they had the jet black for the X.


And, the space gray and silver X colors are the same as on the 8. That’s why I’m heading to the Apple Store for a hands on before I decide on my X order.
