I might value your opinion if you ever held one in you hand, but you haven't. This is just trolling.
How is it trolling for the op to say he doesn't like it?

I don't like the notch or lack of touch ID. I'm not buying it. Rather then squelch divergent opinions can you tell us why you are getting the phone? What do you like about the phone? Maybe we can get a constructive conversation going. 😀

Watch out guys, calling someone a troll is grounds for suspension on this forum. Even though it can be so obvious, in doing so you'll get an email. I would know.
Back in the day, on a political site I frequent, one posted recipes in troll threads as an acknowledgedment of their nature and an indication that they were soon to be deleted. I posted a lot of recipes for “tripe” and “bitter lemon”.

lmaoooooo.... This is not an ugly phone! Actually apple doesn't make ugly things, and no I'm not a fan boy.

I just opened the leather case for the X.

It is a perfect size. Definitely going to make one handed usage a breeze versus any Plus phone.

Trying to find out if anyone have the same thought:

I always envy the 5.5 screen size but do not like the chasis because it is too bulky. The chassis of 4.7 is better. If only Apple could make the iPhone X on the 5.5 screen and getting rid of all the bezel, it would be a perfect combination.

But no, Apple decided to go with a weird 19.5:9 screen ratio, not only it looks ridiculously tall and ugly, it also drives the cost up. Of course that cost is being paid by each consumer.

What's wrong with just making a 16:9 ratio 5.5 inch iPhone X. I personally like 4:3 ratio on iPhone 4s. 16:9, fine I will accept. But 19.5:9, it just looks like a polished TV remote control. Now I'm really considering going back to Blackberry Passport...

You can start going to Starbucks coffee shop and keep buying venti drinks as a way to practice holding it.

Really can't tell if this is a troll thread or not. But if I'm to entertain the notion that OP is serious, I've been using the 6 Plus for three years, it was a huge upgrade for me after three years of using the 4S, since I really wanted Apple to come out with a phone that had a significantly larger display than past iPhones. But if there's one thing I hate about the Plus models is that they are too wide for single-handed use (at least for me). The iPhone X will have the usability of the regular iPhone 7 while going back to the aspect ratios phones had before the dark times.

This is very true.

That said I'm very disappointed with my 6+. Not really in terms of the hardware but in the fact that the promise of more iPad like interfaces specially for the plus size phones never really materialized outside of the built in apps. It was my Galaxy Note 2 experience all over again.

I know I'm probably in the minority but if I was going to upgrade phones right now and elected to stay with Apple it would be the lowest capacity iPhone 8. The reason I say the lowest capacity is because I don't use the phone for heavy app usage. It's useful for web browsing, youtube and emails. Things like that. My 512GB iPad Pro is where I use the majority of my apps.

I was very disappointed at that too, not only that the promise of software differentiation never materialized, but also that the ones that did were pretty pointless. For instance, using the Mail app in landscape mode pretty much made it unusable because you could only see about three emails and the one you were viewing was cropped. A lot of people are complaining that the iPhone X will not have Plus features, but I say good riddance.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. I’m actually rather fond of the new design. To me it’s a good balance of form and function. But as ever these are very personal things, you’re never going to please everyone.

Are you ashamed that an iPhone is bigger than you now? Edit. It’s bigger than mine. Mine is the size of a shuffle.

Now since it’s officially launched and I got my hands on it, I’m giving my opinion one more time: It is ugly due to ridiculous tall display and absurd 19.5:9 display ratio. Not only they made it ugly, this also caused phone extremely hard to handle in one hand.

Bitter much?

I think we are to the point where these 'iPhone X ugly' threads can't be really taken seriously over display concerns. Because everybody is going to see it differently and how they use it. It's a to each their own preference.
Seriously, mods need to get on top of the trolls here.

They're either ridiculously amplifying flaws or overstating positives with the intent of mocking people who are happy with the X.

I have no problem with negative feedback (in fact I use that more than positives when deciding on buying a product), but it needs to be realistic & measured....oh & by people who actually have the phone...

Amplifying flaws?

This is going to be the biggest design failure since Steve Jobs returned Apple.

I dunno, it works tall. It's heavier than my 7 and the screen area is larger. It can be tough to operate one handed.
