It’s iOS 11 the worst ever update.
11.1.2 has improved my experience quite a bit, I feel.

No issues here so it's not the X or the OS per se. Do a hard reset or update to the latest OS if you haven't already. Failing that, start over from a fresh restore.
Nah. Quite smooth. Smoother than my 8+ when it first dropped with iOS 11.
It’s well documented that iOS 11 is the worst update ever or one of the worsts.
I get scroll jitters and lag, but most other things are smooth. But my 7 plus and iPad do the same, it’s ios 11.
Restore as new. I don’t have any issues with mine.

Works fine on iPhone X. It’s owners of the older devices that are complaining. Do you even have an iPhone X?
I moved up from a SE to the X, and I found the performance to be stellar. I'd say when all else fails and you're incurring some odd issues - reset and set it up as new.
Oh it must be fact then...
Never had an issue with iOS 11 on my SE and certainly not on my X. I guess it depends on settings, background tasks, what apps you run, how many you leave running etc.
Please provide said documentation.

iPhone X doesn’t lag. OP needs to set up their device as new.

same issue as you. i noticed the lag starts when you start taking screenshots.
I have no noticeable lag on my 6s Plus. Only issue is battery life. And, I think that started on iOS 10.

I’ve found mines been similar recently. There seems to be lagging slightly with animations, when unlocking, and the first animation to the home screen in particular, annoying, as it was amazingly smooth when I first started using it.
