I hear thet reason for why Japan has to implement that due to the ongoing issues with "Chikan", but is there the same issue with S. Korea?
Yes, the rationale is more or less similar. The interesting thing is that it's merely a guideline, so it's not illegal if you defeat the feature.

Yeah? Just because it is rumour site it doesn't mean people can claim whatever they want and not be able to back their claim with sources. He didn't say allegedly. He didn't say stock is little to nothing in India. He said only 400 iPhones were send to India. Doesn't that sound very specific number to you? The very fact that he edited his comments and removed that 400 figure clearly shows that he was speculating. This site is based on rumours that surround future products, that's mainly the reason for the name but mots of the times you read pure facts in here. And by the way.... this is a forum board. If you cant stand the heat of being questioned when you come up with claims that you can't support, you better don't do it. People here are free to question/argue/disagree and there is nothing jerk about it.

It's just as bad, if not worse in Korea.

I will never forget the reaction I got from friends the first time I used my USA iPhone to take a photo in Japan 10 years ago. They were all shocked there was no sound. I had no clue at the time.

Except you need to live with the camera shutter sound in the JP model regardless if your phone is on silent mode or not ...

It's not too bad if you have Live Photo turned on. Additionally, you get to use your iPhone for Apple Pay and Train Passes in Japan with the Japanese model, although admittedly not very useful if you don't visit Japan very often.

Then maybe you might consider not looking for your "facts" on a rumors site. Quit being a jerk to that other guy. He hasn't done anything to you, man. If he says stock is little to nothing in India... why are you questioning it? Why do you care enough to comment at all? Do you plan on going to India to purchase your next iPhone? Or were you just being a jerk because it's in your nature? SMH
And somehow it is okay for you to judge the others?
BvizioN is simply asking for the source of a claim.
Even though this is a "rumor" site, there are still sources for just about any "rumors".;)

That sounds good, but a Suica card in a folio case is just as easy and less likely to scratch/drop your phone as you swipe the gate. Of course I wish my USA iPhone would do Suica, etc. but honestly the card is very easy to live with. (I'm in japan 4-6x/year)

The iPhone X is already in India, no doubt. The grey market is always profitable, at least before launch day in that particular country. Where there's money to be made there's a way. You won't be able to buy it in standard retailers, though.

That said, the rumor mill is always interesting. I don't doubt that the OP heard the number 400 or 4000, but people in the distribution chain make stuff up all the time as an excuse for no stock. After all, how would you reality check that number?

From a distribution point of view it's easier to make someone up the food chain look stupid or incompetent, especially if you didn't get an allocation.

Original statement: "Oh, they only gave India 400 phones, you won't find it anywhere."
Translation: "Nobody has an iPhone X to sell you because Apple doesn't care about India."
Real translation: "I don't do enough business to get an iPhone X allocation."

Hmm. When I put my suica card in my iPhone case, Apple Pay always activates and the ticket gate wouldn’t read my suica. How are you doing it? Perhaps my case is too thin?
