Absolutely I am upgrading form my X to the Xs Max. I did not like my X, it had Poor Battery Life and I did not like that I had to charge it all the time. The Xs Max is more then the X but I was able to sell it close to 30 days ago so I did get quite a bit back on the resale, so it makes it easier for me to do this upgrade.

I was set on the XS Max, now I'm 75% sure I'm going to stick with my X. And this coming from a guy who has purchased each new iPhone on launch since the 3gs. I am more interested in the new watch. I just can't stomach spending $2000 on a watch and phone when it would only be marginally better than my X.

Just want to see what all X owners are doing.

For the poll, I know the XR might not be an upgrade from the X but curious who's getting what.

I think im deciding to keep my X.. I've also owned every phone since 3G (except 7+). I keep trying to convince myself to buy the MAX for the screen size and battery.. but honestly yesterday was the most disappointing event yet. I feel like the screen size is the only thing I would gain over the X and that isn't worth it :( I hope this means they are saving more features for next year.

Will be preordering the Series 4 watch though because it looks great imo.

I'm big time on the fence. Debating whether it would be smarter to finish paying for the X, upgrade next year, and then sell the X instead of trading it in. I don't think I would want the Max because of the size, and the Xs doesn't seem all that different. I need to decide soon because if I DO decide to get it, I don't want to wait for it.

100% yes. I’ve been on the annual iPhone upgrade train since iPhone in 2007.

Going to get a Max. I just paid the 12th payment on AT&T Next so I’m ready to go at 12:01am. :D

Absolutely. Ordering a 512GB XS Max tonight :D

My wife, who is still using her 7 Plus, is also getting an XS Max, though I think we're gonna stick to 256GB for hers (she's not using much storage on her phone).

No way, especially with the UK prices compared to the US. How does $999 convert to £999? Not worth it for such a small upgrade in my opinion but each to their own
US prices exclude tax whereas the £999 UK price include the 20% VAT

But yes, still a hefty price-tag for a small upgrade from the X.

I am torn and keep going back and forth. On one hand, going to the Max is the only thing that makes sense, great screen/battery, cameras will be slightly better, only a few bucks more a month. On the other, I really like the size of the X. If that's the case, maybe I just go Xs? For some reason, that doesn't feel worth it to me. I am usually upgrading all the way, but I can't decide this year. This makes me feel like I should just wait it out.

I've owned almost every single iPhone since the original, only skipping the 5s and I have to say this is the first upgrade cycle I'm unsure about. In fact leading up to pre-orders I'm still trying to convince myself not to upgrade to the Max, but I'm a sucker for big phones and the screen on the Max is way too tempting! Couple that with the beautiful gold color option and I'm already prepping my credit card for tomorrow.
I will also be getting the SS gold watch with the Milanese loop, so yeah going all gold this year. Will be the first time I've ever purchased a gold iDevice :).

My X has terrible battery life, and I constantly loose service and requires a restart to fix it. I plan to upgrade to the Max for the larger screen, and hopefully better battery life.

I am not. If i wanted a bigger screen, the i would. But i like the way the X fits in my pants and shorts currently. And don’t feel the XS had enough advancements to make it worth it.

Will wait until next year which will be 11. (Or XI? LOL)

I have an X and I'm undecided. I only have a 64 GB X and while I have never run out of space (currently I have 30 GB available) I am terrified that I will, so I am actually debating of "upgrading" to another X so that I can get a 256. I think I would rather get a new Watch rather than pay more for a new phone

really considering 'down grading' to the R
I'm on the upgrade program, so I can either keep my x or upgrade, but I might save myself some money this year and drop down to a cheaper, but just as good? phone

Yes, to the Max, it's the one I wanted last year. Had there been an X "Plus" release last year I would have done that and most likely skipped this year.

This is how I feel. I think I'm going to stick with 256GB storage option but go with the Max since I miss the larger screen size. If that was an option last year, I'd be in the same boat as you.

Yes going for that Copper Gold :D; hope I don’t go blind from the bling.

The only upgrade for me is the Max !

I would love to have a bigger screen for my older eyes, but I do not want a bigger device then my current X. I know, I know you can not have one without the other. I am not on iUP, if I was it would be a no brainer. My plan is still to skip this cycle and just get the AW Series 4, but then the day is still young!

Aren't UK prices inclusive of taxes whereas tax gets added on US.
Yes you are right the UK prices include taxes whereas the US prices do not. Assuming the phone is bought in the state with the highest sales tax which is around 10% (iphone xs 64gb = $999 plus 10% sales tax = $1100 roughly), with current exchange rates $1100 only equates to around £850.
The UK prices are dreadful compared to the US.
I have upgraded every year since the iPhone 3G but this is the first year i am skipping. The iphone X i have now is that good a phone I don’t see the point in moving to an xs but everyone is different
The xs max does look awesome though but i had a 7plus before the x and i found the size rather cumbersome so this would interest me but i cannot justify the cost

I'm like a few others on the fence about it, if anything I would upgrade to the Max but its big and pricey so?? I can tell by the pole that a lot of people are in the same boat.

I always had the plus sizes. I went from 7+ to X. I regretted not having tried it out before buying. Going ahead, I am considering waiting for the phone in the apple store to try it out. I can never figure why Apple does not put the new phones on display so people can play with it and then buy/book. I don't like the X for width reasons. I am thus going to wait and play with the Xmax. Another point the diagonal width is not a good measure of screen size. Nor is the width of phones. I am interested in the screen height and width. I will thus need to wait for the models to be displayed in stores.

I'm sticking with my X. It's fast enough so I don't see how I would perceive the speed improvement. The XS does not impress me at all. The XR, yes, but I'm planning to get the watch. I used iOS 12 for about two months and my phone felt faster so iOS 12 (had to reset phone since the beta rendered Face ID useless) can hold me over at least another year.
