I have an X and I'm undecided. I only have a 64 GB X and while I have never run out of space (currently I have 30 GB available) I am terrified that I will, so I am actually debating of "upgrading" to another X so that I can get a 256. I think I would rather get a new Watch rather than pay more for a new phone

See, mine is the opposite problem. Last year I got the 256GB X thinking I'd run out of space but I haven't. In fact I'm only at 43 GB. I'm considering upgrading to the Xs and getting a 64GB or maybe downgrading to the Xr and saving $ on my monthly bill. I'm not sure I will like the size of the Xr though. The X is perfect size for me.

really considering 'down grading' to the R
I'm on the upgrade program, so I can either keep my x or upgrade, but I might save myself some money this year and drop down to a cheaper, but just as good? phone

Thinking the same thing. All depends on how it feels in my hand, though. Not a fan of bigger phones.

Yes for me the dual sim/e-sim aspect is big for me. I am sick and tired of carrying two phones. I am going to go with the Max for the larger screen so I can at least feel a difference as well. But honestly feel it may be too big and I may go backwards to the XS within the 2 week period.

is esim only Xs Max feature or also available on Xs?

Both XS and XS max.

I am upgrading principally for the duel SIM, so I won’t need to carry two phones for my business (UK and US numbers), although the camera improvements make the new XS tempting.

I can’t decide if to go with the XS, or Max. I like the size carrying the X in my pocket, but when using like a larger screen o_O
We are literally the same person. lol. My thoughts spot on. I am gonna go for the Max just to at least see/feel a difference but will definitely swap for an XS if it feels too big later.

I might order the Max, and if I then find uncomfortable to carry, return to exchange in the 2 week period. If I just order the smaller size, I will be unsure if I made the right decision.

I went for the Plus models because of the resolution (not size) and camera.

Now that the Xs has the same camera as the Xs Max, I will go for the Xs... If there was an X and X Max last year I would have continued with the larger size, but now that I have had the opportunity to use the X, I am okay with this...

I sold my galaxy S9 to make room for the upcoming iPhone Xs. Saw the keynote yesterday and today at 2pm I purchased an Iphone X 256 gigs like new for $800. Not spending $300 more for the same phone. The xs is the smallest S upgrade in iPhone history. It's still an upgrade nevertheless.

I wished there had been a Plus size X last year so the Xs Max is an instabuy for me. My wife is due for an upgrade anyway so we will sell her iPhone 7 and she will take over my X.

I was set on the XS Max, now I'm 75% sure I'm going to stick with my X. And this coming from a guy who has purchased each new iPhone on launch since the 3gs. I am more interested in the new watch. I just can't stomach spending $2000 on a watch and phone when it would only be marginally better than my X.

Just want to see what all X owners are doing.

For the poll, I know the XR might not be an upgrade from the X but curious who's getting what.

Yes but with heavy heart, little uncomfortable buying Max. It's not an implusive purchase like always. I really hope i like Max. sigh....

On the IUP so just turning it in for a newer Xs
If they hadn’t discontinued the X I might have kept it

I am in the exact same boat you are in OP. I am more interested in the watch than the phone.

I'm Getting the iPhone Xs Max but truthfully I would of stuck with my X if it wasn't a Non-CDMA Phone I switched to Xfinity Mobile from AT&T and I have nothing but problems with my cellular connectivity. My Dad got a iPhone X straight from Xfinity Mobile and docent have the problems I have so figured I have held out to get the new iPhone since I have to get a new one anyways.

I am going iPhone Xs Mac 256GB Thinking of going Sliver this time around.

Are you me? I also got an iPhone annually since purchasing the 3g. Currently have the X and can't find any reason to buy the XS. It's missing that one key feature that pushes one to upgrade. The Max is nice but I've never had a big phone and not really sure I want one.

I think it just comes down to the fact the iPhone X is a great device even 11 months in. There's a reason why Apple discontinued it instead of keeping around smaller configs - it would cannibalize the XS. Incremental upgrade isn't worth the $1150.

It feels weird not staying up late to pre-order a new phone after doing it almost 10 years but I guess that time has come.

I am torn and keep going back and forth. On one hand, going to the Max is the only thing that makes sense, great screen/battery, cameras will be slightly better, only a few bucks more a month. On the other, I really like the size of the X. If that's the case, maybe I just go Xs? For some reason, that doesn't feel worth it to me. I am usually upgrading all the way, but I can't decide this year. This makes me feel like I should just wait it out.

I have upgraded every year since the original iPhone in 2007, however, this will be the first time I will not upgrade. I have an iPhone X and I feel the Xs is not worth another $1,250 for what it is offering. I mean this is by far the worst "S cycle" update ever. Also, I do not have any interest in the Xs Max as I feel the X/Xs is the perfect size, though I do still occasionally use my iPhone 7 Plus.

So usually I would be all excited for pre-order night, but I just cannot justify upgrading this year!

I think Apple is going to be disappointed in the pre-order numbers this year.

I think next year will be one of the biggest iPhone updates ever with 2nd Gen. FaceID, A13 chip, way better updated camera specs, and possibly no notch (though it really does not bother me!) etc...

:apple:

I think you’ll find most people that already have an X will not be upgrading to the XS.

No reason just for better camera and faster processor when my current X is more than fine and the XS screen isn’t any bigger.

Not to mention iOS 12 speed bump we’ll be getting. :)

Anyone with an X will be mostly upgrading if they want to bigger screen and will move to the XS max IMO mostly if at all.
