Is there any way to remove the home bar?

I play a lot of games and, actually, do a lot of things on my phone where the home bar sits present and persistent the whole time.

More than it being in kinda annoying, I’m worried I’ll burn my screen in with a home bar if I’m playing my games too long.

Is there any way to get rid of it or hide it somehow? I don’t really need a bar to remember me that a swipe up is home.

I’ve only played a couple games like into the dead and the home button disappears for me.
 
Something like, safari, for example has the bar always there. Or apps/games that scale to iPhone 4.7 size has the bar always there. Mario Run has it there, etc.

Would be nice to just hide it completely in settings.

Yes this needs to go....No idea why its there in the first place.....IS it just there to shows us where we need to swipe up at???? Look at Safari that menu bar on the bottom of the page could be cut down IF they remove that stupid home bar......

contact the devs.. they can remove it if they deem it necessary or obstructive to the gameplay..

though yeah, i see what you're saying.. a global option to remove it might make sense.. i don't think it would mess anything up (it might.. i just can't think of it right now)

It’s not just in one or two apps though. I want an option to hide it, system wide.

So, without the home button, without the home bar, how to return to home? Tap where? This is a question I am really curious to know the answer. If a user uses pinch like in iPad to return to home I would not mind.

you would do everything the same.. swipe up to exit an app etc.. it's just that there wouldn't be a graphical representation (home bar) on display.

go to this forum on the phone..
turn it to landscape..
the home bar will disappear after a few seconds..

swipe up from the bottom to exit Safari..

see?
it doesn't matter if the bar is showing or not.. it still works the same.

I just remember there is something called “left corner and right corner”. Ok, if that is the case then I am wrong.

These kinds of questions are why, unfortunately, Apple will keep the bar on by default. Hopefully they will give us an option to turn off the graphic in a future update.

It doesn’t disappear for me in landscape mode here in Safari.
 
I hope they add an option to hide the home bar in a future software update. the gesture can still work without the bar.

another thing I think is odd is why is the home bar moved in landscape mode? I'd prefer if the home bar is always in the same place, or at least add an option to swipe from the physical bottom of the phone when in landscape mode.

I constantly find my self trying to close landscape apps from the bottom of the phone since that's where I'm used to the home bar being

There’s no reason for this bar to be everywhere it’s like I don’t know to swipe up or how to get into multitasking, the bar is nothing but a annoying distraction the top bar I don’t even notice anymore but this black/white home bar has to go! Also they need to bring back the old swipe up to exit a app, holding a app in multi is so stupid to exit.

I don’t know how so many people miss this. The swipe up gesture is already used to go home! They NEED the press and hold and also it’s seriously not the end of the world. People can’t even wait an extra second or two.

On the matter of the home bar, I don’t always notice it but has anyone played Asphault8 on their iPhone X yet? THATs when it gets annoying.

I’d like to see the home bar go away, but it’s there for the masses.
