Are you using a screen protector in your iPhone X?

It’s been claimed by other users that it does indeed fill in minor micro scratches. I can’t speak to that as I applied it to my brand new X.

Nice, might give the Spigen a go, if that’s what it does.

Got my iPhone X and installed the Belkin's protector at the Apple Store the next day.
My first ever screen protector since I usually did not opt for them.
Very happy with the installation process, the fit and the overall feel.

I'm giving it a try without a screen protector. The first week I had the phone I tried 2 different ones. They looked really bad and were a huge distraction for me, so I got apple care + and removed the protector.

Without a screen protector the screen quality is WAY better.

Which screen protectors did you try?

The Belkin invisiglass ultra from the Apple store is excellent. I have been using since release day and have absolutely no problems of any kind. Period.

I got them on Amazon. They weren't name brand. I thought about trying the Belkin one from Apple. $40 is a lot for something that's going to chip, lift or crack over time though.

I had several Zagg screen protectors on my 6+ that kept chipping around the edges. I used my 7+ naked without any major scratches. Can't decide what to do for the x.

I never used a screen protector. They look tacky as **** and that horrendous outline. I don’t get how some people scratch their phones. I work in construction as a superintendent and debris everywhere at times. I keep my iPhone in my left pocket with nothing in there. And i don’t get on single scratch on my phones. I even have dropped my phones.

I entirely agree with you. I know screen protectors have improved over the years in terms of quality and how well the actually adhere to the iPhone. But I don't like the look of the outline and I can tell from the tactile feel that it's completely different from touching the display without a screen protector.

I take good care of my iPhones for the majority, and I have never had an issue with any of my displays scratching without the use of a screen protector. I prefer to use my iPhone straight out of the box exactly how was intended for me.

I use the same. The Zagg sapphire may be 45-50 bucks...but it is STRONG! Yeah maybe slightly thick...but I'm personally fine with that.

I had it on my 6 Plus for 3 years..no issues at all. When I traded it in..I wanted to remove that Zagg protector..perhaps reuse it...resize it for reuse...maybe for the rear of my 8 Plus. keep it as a backup as a protector. It started to peal off great, but I hit a snag and the protector actually cracked, shattered a little bit. Phone, screen was fine. The protector was toast.

Yeah, I had the sapphire defense on my 7 plus. I dropped my phone in a parking lot and the zagg cracked instead of my screen. I ordered a free warranty replacement, and only had to pay shipping.

I use a plastic film style screen protector from tech armor as I just want scratch protection and it doesn’t take away from the look of the design of the display glass. I don’t like tempered glass typically because dust seems to collect around the edges of them looking sloppy and dirty. But a film style works just fine and I get 3 in a pack. I also like them because unlike tempered glass I find it easier to get dust out from under them if a piece gets trapped under where tempered glass it’s a bit more tricky to do. Personal preferences..

Just ordered some of these, how are they so far?

They’re fantastic but use the hinge method or align with the bottom of the display to install cause the notch cutout isn’t cut exact to it. Other that that they’re my favorite!

I received the phone over the weekend and intend to use a protector but finding it insanely hard to get more information on plastic film protectors. 2 things I wanted to raise from reading replies in this thread..

1- those who say some glass protectors are like they weren't there - has there not been any feeling that you're not tapping onto the actual screen - that something is between your finger and the screen? I've had that feeling with my work phone which came with a glass protector and it annoys me (even though I've seen a 3D glass sample for the C which looks great when I'm not poking at the screen).

2- those who are grateful for the screen protector cracking and not the phone's screen - the glass protector cracking does not itself mean the phone screen would've cracked without the glass protector? I've been using plastic film protectors on my 5 and 6 without issue from drops, but my glass protector on the work phone has already chgippef away at the corner from a drop I don't remember. I'm just not sure if the glass protectors are too weak, or if it is really taking the impact off the actual screen. I do see "9H" and "mil grade" terms being advertised though.. but I'm still a little skeptical.

All in all - I guess I just don't like the feeling of not actually tapping on the screen, and feeling a layer between finger and phone. Does no one who use a glass protector feel that?

Still struggling what protector to get..
