Shipping estimates for the iPhone X have improved to 1 to 2 weeks in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, suggesting Apple's efforts to ramp up production have successfully resulted in greater supply.

The 1 to 2 week shipping estimates are an improvement over the previous 2 to 3 week shipping estimates that have been available since November 15. iPhone X models ordered today in the United States and Canada will now arrive by early December, well ahead of the holidays.

For Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, iPhone X shipping estimates are still at 2 to 3 weeks, but those estimates should also improve over the course of the next few days.

In addition to improving shipping estimates for devices purchased now from the online Apple Store, Apple has also been sending out iPhone X pre-orders more quickly than expected. Many MacRumors readers who had late November and December shipping estimates after ordering have already received their devices or are expecting them soon.

Apple retail stores are also receiving regular shipments and customers who check stock on Apple.com early in the morning and use stock-tracking tools like iStockNow have been able to make purchases with no wait time.

Back in early November, Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple was working to ramp up iPhone X production week by week, with the aim of getting the new smartphone out to customers "as soon as possible."

Ahead of the iPhone X launch, rumors suggested the device would be heavily constrained and in short supply until well into 2018, but given the improvements we're already seeing, supply/demand balance will likely be reached earlier than originally expected.

Great! How much longer for the sim-free version? And are we back to 5 weeks once it's being offered?
Well carrier info is no longer necessary so you can pretty much get whatever model you want now, assuming you'd like the sim free you can purchase the Verizon or Sprint variant outright no with no problem and have the capability to use it on any network.

You do need them for online orders (no?) and they're not yet available at my local Apple Stores.

Given the debt level of most American households, I doubt many are choosing to buy the X outright.

Or, you know they're choosing financing through Barclay or any other 0% APR offers through any other major credit card ... they're more options to finance than through contracts.

Again, if you've been reading the several threads over the past couple weeks, it was clear that many are indeed waiting for the sim-free version.

No the requirement was removed last week...So order one online now you only have MAYBE a little over a week wait now, or wake up early and buy for in store pick up.

just order a fully paid Verizon model. it's unlocked and you can activate it with your own sim.

For online orders you need a Verizon account... this has been suggested - and explained - over and over again by various folks.

There never at any point was in-store stock in my area. :) Thanks for the correction, though! That helps a lot :)

But if they removed it, why not go ahead and actually offer the sim-free version already?

You're welcome...Yea so might as well just order now with them catching up with demand so quickly, it'll be much less of a hassle then checking...you'll probably get it in 10 business days or less

In that case, Apple's marketing team clearly got their strategy wrong. o_O

After so many iPhone launches, they still think their largest customer base in the U.S. wants carrier phones first. Silly Apple marketing folk. Or maybe, just maybe... they're right and U.S. customers overwhelmingly prefer carrier phones.

Well, excuse those folks who aren't on a carrier contract or - you know - travel a lot and can't have simlock. There also ARE those folks who just try to avoid too much debt (and yes, by all upfront)

I'm pretty sure they're not doing this because the customers overwhelmingly prefer carriers - but they're being offered nice rewards by the carriers...

Apple ain't Mother Theresa, ya know?

Well, this will quell the unsupported fears about the iPhone X being hard to find during the holiday season.
Those fears were supported by many stories in the media (especially here on MacRumors) about Face ID component bottlenecks causing a shortage of iPhone X units well into 2018. And they were supported by actual shortages of previous new models in years past.

That said, I'm happy for this news. I ordered a silver iPhone X on November 2, and was given a delivery window of December 1 to December 8. Since I'm leaving town for several weeks on the 6th or maybe the 5th, I was a little worried. This morning the status of my order changed to "Preparing to Ship". And though the delivery window hasn't changed yet, I'm now thinking I'll get the phone before the end of the month, and almost certainly before December 5. Yay!
