True Tone off or on iPhone X?

Off. For some reason I don't mind the lamps in my house being warm white, but I don't like my screen to match that color. Cool white just looks cleaner and nicer to me on a screen. I wonder if some of the people who don't mind True Tone have daylight, cool white, or fluorescent lights in their house so the screen doesn't get super warm for them.

True Tone off Gabe me a noticeably blue display. I mean noticeably. I never complain about the warmth of my display, but without Tritons, it would’ve gone back. And that’s never hakkebed in ten years.

Been loving True Tone on the X display all week. I hadn’t realized how much I’d missed reading quality printed magazine pages and this is the next best thing.

No.

Way to yellow on the iPhone X (compared with the 8 Series and the iPad)

Same here, Way too yellow. It was the first thing I turned off when i got my X as I was like why is the screen so yellow!? I don’t see how anyone could use the device with that feature on, perhaps Apple will improve or fix it in a software update but at it’s current state trutone is useless

Looks horrifyingly yellow at first but that’s from a lifetime of staring at bluish computer displays. Whenever I use a True Tone device and then switch to a non-True Tone device it makes me appreciate the yellowish tint—especially since I work with a lot paper so picking up the iPhone X looks great versus the MacBook.

This.

It only looks yellow at first, but after a day or two, it looks amazing (to me), and I can’t imagine going back. It really does look true to life.

Yup — absolutely. I have sensitive vision and it is a very relaxing hue especially in the dark. I really enjoy the feature as well as night shift.

So ok... after using night shift and TT for an hour, I turned night shift off. Now True Tone does not look yellow at all. I tried turning off TT, the screen literally too blue for my taste.

Try the above guys, it will make you appreciate TT more. Bright bluish tone seems harsh to me now. This is coming from a guy who has hated True Tone for two weeks.

Mine is on all the time. I love the yellow tint to the screen.

True tone is actually really nice to use on the iPad Pro. iPads have such a bright display, that it helps with reading and makes the transition much easier once the sensors adjust to the lighting in the room.

Off for me. I did try it for a few days but I just can’t get used to it yet.
I’ve tweaked my display to how I like it to look and that’s what I’m most happy with. So for now that’s how it’s staying.
