Just wondering if anyone else has the same issues or if its just normal over all. My iPhone X gets warm not hot or uncomfortable after about 10-20 minutes of continuous use, wheather it be Facebook, Safari, Twitter, Apollo, mostly anything.

I am wondering if its normal for it start feeling warm under those conditions, or if anyone else has experienced this, already tired restoring without a backup to eliminate that.

Used a temp reader at work and phones external temp was between 86-90 degrees fahrenheit after 15 minutes...

Same here doesn’t seem to matter what I do anyone else?

Where I live it's 108° every day in the summer - in the shade. Try keeping an iPhone cool under those circumstances.
(Hint- wrap a frozen blue ice pack in a rag and rubber band the iPhone to it- no case).

Mine only gets warm when I play games or stream video

Wouldn’t Facebook be streaming video essentially it loads a video as you scroll?

Does it warm up when in an air conditioned room though? Mine can warm up to 90 degrees in a 75 degree room.

I don’t know, I have never been a member of Facebook..

Do you have a case on your phone cuz rubber case tend to absorb more heat... but in general mine does heat up fairly quickly too after surfing Safari or watching vids on YouTube

It’s something I’ve seen noted in reviews of all the 11th gen iPhones, I guess the A11 just runs quite warm when you start to give it things to do, it is a very powerful chip with 6 cores in a small body after all. If the iPhone isn’t self throttling or shutting down due to heat it’s nothing to worry about

I use a UAG case, composite I believe not rubber.

Still having this issue seems to warm up easily doing basic tasks for any amount of time. Sorry

Yes. And mine was replaced under warranty for a separate issue and the new one does it as well.

I also seem to notice a dimming of the display when it gets too warm. This usually only happens to me when Waze is open and running and it's in an Amazon bought wireless charging cradle and charging plugged into a USB/cigarette lighter adapter in my truck's 12 volt receptacle.

It appears to be either related to some failure in my Amazon bought wireless cradle/USB adapter, or a software update. I'm inclined to believe the latter but have no real evidence that points to that. Just a "gut feeling". Like Apple allowed a faster charging rate in an update that I'm not aware of.

Does yours get warm with light use as well?? My previous one was replaced and this one is the same. My truck makes it feel like its on fire with Carplay.

It will get warm when using certain apps. A particular word search game I'm playing uses a lot of battery and gets warm. It gets warmer while running a heavy duty app AND charging. Fire hot maybe once that I've noticed and I've began to actively keep track and either close an app or pull it off that particular charger. I have NOT noticed any issues when using a Belkin cordless charger that I believe is both apple approved and endorsed or plugged directly using a Lightening cable.

Do you use Facebook? That one warms mine up

Many variables can cause a ‘warm’ iPhone. An example is the weather if it’s 85° and humid this keeps the heat around. Another possibility is the case
Keep in mind certain materials contain heat rather than absorb it
If you have doubts bring it into an Apple Store

I don't have any evidence, but this seems to be more common with my X lately. In fact, my phone has been completely locking up with the screen and buttons being completely non responsive for 30-90 seconds a few times in the past 7 to 10 days. Most of the time it is right after using Waze for navigation. I'm going to be more diligent with launching the app switcher and killing Waze when I'm done using it.

Mine starts to feel just a bit warm using reddit or facebook for 20 minutes...

Guys.

Your phone can get warm through normal usage, calling it an "issue" would taint the understanding of non-technical forum members into thinking it's actually an issue.

Words matter.

So does yours get warm with normal use? Social media? Reddit? Browsing?
