Can we please stop posting "not buying the X" threads already,
YES, you have our gratitude already, for making it more easy for us the order the X online :)

Won't be long before they get rid of all physical buttons on the phone and have just an all-touch iPhone with inbuilt SIM.

I have a catch 22 just now. So far i have been using Touch ID for both my iPhone & iPad. I like it, its fast & reliable however i now want to change to passcode as i feels the security isnt 100% there for me.

My GF has in the past used my phone when i am asleep by placing the home button to my thumb/finger. Tbf i am a heavy sleeper. She tells me she wanted to listen to some tunes on my phone but i think she got some insecurities right now ;) as she has woke me asking who certain messages were to etc

Its all innocent on my part and have nothing per-say to hide but it just feels i need another or different layer of protection but am now concerned this will piss her off or feed any insecurity if i suddenly switch to pass code.

I know its not released and details are sketchy right now but does anyone think the iPhone X will allow Face ID to be utilised while the owner is asleep or does it use the eyes for recognition? Lol, i cant beleive im asking but i just kinda get tired of her nagging but if i go passcode i think it will freak her out more

It was mentioned in the keynote that face ID will only work when user is looking at phone with eyes open.

I think it will work out where there is Touch ID underneath and next iPhone etc will have. both

While I think it'd be great to have both (I personally have not tried touch id but will use face id), it would be costly to have to maintain and improve two very complex an expensive technologies. The logic tells us they'd be going towards one sooner or later.
