As a gamer and music player with 64 GB on Iphone X is that enough space?

The question is are you a player or a streamer?

Why does this sound so dirty?

:D

Anyway, I went with 64GB, the additional money wasn't a huge issue, but I specifically do this because I tend to have plenty [@64GB] with my usage habits, but not _so_ much that I'm frivolous about never backing up, auditing my storage, organizing videos offline, etc. I also don't do any gaming, my largest space consumer by far are photos/videos.

64 will allow me to be less of a glutton

Even w tons of unnecessary crap from last year of clogging up my 7+ I only
Used half

15% more for same iPhone, even 4x storage, didn’t make sense for me. I could afford it but 1149+tax puts this phone literally in like Mac laptop pricing and that’s just getting screwy from a rationalization perspective

Even 999 feels, meh. But I paid 879 for my 7+ last year and it’s a third iteration of same design so ..

The question is are you a player or a streamer? Also on games, depends on how many you play at the same time. 64 should be fine if you only have a few big games at a time and stream. If those do not fit your description, go big.
Thanks for giving me the right direction to choice what i wanted...
I'd choose 64 GB with Silver color

Gonna whine a little. I wish they had a 128gb version like they used to. That's the perfect size for me. My 7 had 128gb and I never ran out of space. Well I did once trying to load an entire season of Chapo on my phone from Netflix, but that's not typical usage. But if they had 128gb for +$100 and 256gb for +$150, pretty sure I'd pick the 256 anyway. Apple has a way of forcing my hand in spending more. They are evil geniuses.

I’m just making positive of a downgrade storage situation. But for
Me I don’t think it’s gonna be an issue or change my habits. Especially with pics taking half the space on average with the new compression method.

Despite all that, i *know* they screwed users

I had a 64 6+ and 6s+

And 32 was too little but 128 was overkill for me on 7+. Overkill I didn’t mind but I didn’t care for the 32 base and more upcharge

Or the 16 base on SE causing me to spend +100 at the time for 64 in 2016

It’s apple tho. They screw ya. Haha

I’m just real happy 64 is base too. I can probably
Make do moving forward base everything ... unless they regress on base which ya never know since it’s Apple once again haha

But yes for 999 and a lot more in other markets 128 was almost what I assumed, like 128/256 were only jet black options for a while before they offered smaller after 8

I looked at my storage use, both current and past, and came to the conclusion that 64gb was fine. Why pay a premium for space you may never use? But each of us potentially has different needs, so you have to do your own math.

Yah I’m glad 999 worked. Made sense to do it coming from 879 for 7plus last year. Even tho still 999

1149+tax will never settle well with me. It’s not that I can’t afford it I just think that’s psycho and a guilt ridden price and I’m an iPhone junkie

Don’t forget ROM storage is not only capacity but also speed. Same as SSD - bigger storage is faster. So 256 is about 4x faster than 64.

What the... That is fake news if I've ever read any. That is misinformation. In certain cases when RAM fills up, it can slow down your device. But apples to apples, they are the same speed all other times.

What is your basemark app result?

Haven’t run it but I GUARANTEE it’s not 4x due to 4x capacity improvement

Guarantee.

It is faster in benchmarks but not noticeable nor that substantial

Writes normally suffer a bit in benching alone and read are quite close

That’s mine (256 GB)

The speed difference is not 4X difference. There is a difference but it would be slight and unnoticeable.

Thank you for this. Faster? Maybe. Enough faster to make any difference to more than one out of 1,000 users? Not a chance. This is a phone, not a workstation.

If you are a hard core mobile gamer, you might be that one user, but most buyers are not that person.

I like it sloppy. 256, no question.
the bigger the better.
I would still enjoy the 64 but the 256 alleviates the need for frequent offloading.
I like a little more junk in the trunk, meaning I carry my phone in a back pocket

Only way to see any difference would be running some speed test which is ridiculous. The small difference would only make a difference to someone here.;)

I am into the 256 model too but only because I work out in the field and there is no phone service much less WiFi. I am at over 90gb used now but mostly is my music collection.

It is good Apple gives us choice but would think a 128gb unit should have been offered

128 would be king no doubt.
Apple knows 64 is adequate but also know many people hovering around 45 to 50 won’t risk it and will gladly accept the extra revenue for the 256.
I would by the largest capacity regardless.
