iPhone X/XS/XSM: no mute?

Just FYI
I have iPad Air 2 (no physical mute) and haven’t experienced alerts coming through when I have the “Ringer and Alerts” slider all the way down in settings.

Also not experiencing this on iPhone X.

iOS 11 or 12.

It happens in the Tweetbot app and ******* on Safari & other websites/apps that don’t use the default video player.

Ultimately the silent/vibrate and/or DND is more for that kind of thing.

Have you tried the mute button in control center? Sorry, my iPad isn’t around at the mo and I’m not too familiar with it. Probably stating the obvious but just wanted to try and help!

From memory you can’t actually turn ringer (notification) volume down to zero, the minimum is one bar, and then you have to use the mute switch

What phones have you tried this on to give you the title; "iPhone X/XS/XSM: no mute?" because I'm almost certain you've not tested this on all those devices.

It may be a glitch with the phone your using, which model that is you don't specify, but if there's a problem try a software update/re-install or take it into an Apple store. If it's a new phone, take it into Apple and they will sort this issue out as it's not widespread at all, and we aren't all fanboy's on here for what it's worth.

I most certainly tested it on all of those devices as well as on the iPad Pro 10 inch, iPad Mini 4, and 7+. It’s a bug.

I couldn't hear anything on my X on iOS 12. Tried music, youtube and a video from the photos app.

I do however notice that if I unplug headphones even when nothing is playing I get a "pop" sound. I think the headphones are on even when nothing is playing.

Doesn't quite seem the rest given that there are some others that have mentioned coming across some similar type of things. And even if it's just the OP, that still means that something isn't right in OP's case.

Seems like I did that with my question of why I would need help, (along with the thread itself where I didn't ask for help with this, where the poster that asked me about it has participated and in earlier as well). But with someone thinking that I did, I was also curious to find out what made them think that.
