    Hi there,
    New iPhone XR user here.
Coming from an iPhone X i have noticed that texts on this one are pretty blurry.
Especially in third parties apps like Messenger i saw a big difference between X And XR while for others elements (images, icons etc) i can’t notice big differents...
Am i the Only one noticing this?

Haven't seen it in person but im not surprised that texts are blurry......Its a low resolution display. Its then up you if you are planning on returning it or keep it. No way im keeping a phone when the display is a downgrade from the phone im upgrading from. $800.00 is just too much money for this type of screen.

Apps are also probably not optimized for that screen resolution.

Post a picture so we can all see how blurry it is.

Text seems a bit blurry to me too. I think it’s going to be impossible for me to go from the ultra clear OLED to the LCD. Once you’ve seen awesome it’s hard to go back to just ok.

Text looks very crisp/sharp for me on iPhone XR. Even if I zoom in on text it looks smooth.

PPI isn't based on a year. And are we saying that text is blurry on iPhone 8, 7, 6, etc.?

It pretty much was compared to the Plus models.

Not really sure that's the case. Certainly some can see the difference in PPI at that level and can see it being better, but that doesn't make what is on the non-Plus versions blurry somehow simply by the virtue of PPI being smaller.

Maybe apps are not yet optimized.

We’ve heard literally ZERO complaints about the iPhone 8 screen being low resolution until like yesterday. Now it has suddenly become an issue.

You guys are watching too much Unbox Therapy. Enjoy your iPhone XR.

XR is nice and sharp. Notice no difference when the 8+ is right next to it.

Nothing to do with screen size. It's to do with ppi. And yes, small text on the 6 to 8 is blurrier than on the 6 Plus to 8 Plus.

Uh what? Some people have mentioned small text being blurrier on the non-Plus models for YEARS.

Didn’t notice any blurry text anywhere on my husband’s new XR or yellow screen that some are complaining about and I have been using a X now since launch day last year.

If you don't see blurriness in small fonts, then that's great. Many people do, although they represent the minority.

Yellow screen may be due to True Tone in some cases. With True Tone off, it's considerably bluer. Also, not every unit will be calibrated identically.

I don’t have Messenger. Text looks good on this forum. I can see graininess if I take off my distance glasses and bring the phone up close to my face. Otherwise no, it looks really close to what I am seeing on my 8 Plus.

I’m very used to going from viewing the ultra detailed display on my S9+ running at maximum resolution to my 8 Plus and back again. And now this display is added into the mix. My eyes adjust quickly. The only thing my eyes can’t adjust to is pwm flicker on SOME OLED displays.

    326 is actually a 2010 thing starting with 4

But contrast and such have gone up a lot too

Messenger was blurry for me with larger text, but safari is fine. Probably an app update issue.

The lower ppi and an energy efficient chip will lend itself to excellent battery life

That’s the trade off. And speed to not render so many pixels or downsample in case of plus or anything else

As mentioned, it's been since 2010 since 326 ppi was introduced, so no, it's not an app update issue.

I'm talking about Safari. But I also am saying it won't be a problem for most people. If you don't notice the small font blurriness, then be happy.

So true! Oh dear! The Xr screen is actually almost a decade old!
