Now the Xs Max offers more space between the notches, does this mean you can now have the battery percentage displayed?

Why is that obvious? It’s obviously not out of laziness, rather a design decision.
Well, lazy.Almost?

I mean it isn’t even “almost” lazy. It’s just lazy.Well, lazy.
Why is that obvious?
If it’s a design decision to have the same number of rows of icons, for example, as my 6+ despite a much larger and better screen, it strikes me as a pretty poor one.
What are the upsides to such a decision, design-wise?
Well, lazy.

It's well and truly lazy on Apple's part. Until recently, not all of Apple's own apps were optimised for the X.
They could have offered scrollable icons/text with the X if space was a problem.
With the Xs Max, there's more than enough space to display network/battery info but all they did was scale up the X screen size. A custom UI would have been the icing on the the cake.
Yes, its lazy, or not caring about the smallest details like they used too. When the X came out, there was plenty of examples of how Apple could have put the percentage on the main display, but instead chose not to re-work the interface slightly. Now with the larger phone, they chose not to fully take advantage of the increased screen real estate but rather just increase he magnification - that's lazy.If it’s a design decision that makes it lazy

I think they are not showing the battery % on purpose so people don't obsess over it. I don't really agree with that atleast we should have a toggle to turn it on and off because not everyone obsess over such thing. They did take more advantage with the screen size with the Xs Max in landscape mode which is a good step, the 5.8" inch still doesn't have a good size exploitation but I guess they need "features" to make people buy the Max.Yes, its lazy, or not caring about the smallest details like they used too. Yes, the choice was not to do the extra work, i.e., lazyThey made a choice based on design.

If that's the case, why have the percentage on the other phones they sell?Nah, disagree. You honestly think with all the work they put into design, Apple who likes to be as clean as possible, simplify options as much as possible, looked at this, and said “% would be cool but we don’t feel like coding that in”?
What’s dirty and complicated about a UI that takes advantage of the screen to the fullest extent possible?Maybe I shouldn’t have said obvious in general. But to me it’s obvious that they’re going for keeping things clean, simple and unified across devices.

Not by a lot considering Android phones have much better battery life. Those are older phones with older designs. Still with the home button, control center accessed from sliding upwards, etc.
Also all 3 new phones seem to have improved battery life. I feel that battery life is going to be even less of an issue.

Why keep things unified across devices when the devices aren’t the same? They don’t do this when it comes to landscaping some apps, why do they do this when there’s room for more icons and more information on the screen?
They're selling phones running the latest iOS, yet on some phones they have the battery, and others they don't. Inconsistent, in my view, and many people like/want the battery indicator. This has nothing to do with apple wanting to hide the value because of great battery life but rather choosing not to do the extra workThose are older phones with older designs.
