Sure flame on.

I’ve owned a new iPhone every single year since the 3G. This has been the most challenging of any of them. Sure the bar is higher today.

My XS Max has insanely slow WiFi, talking 3-4mbps.

The Bluetooth has never worked correctly in my 2016 Audi.

I’ve replaced the phone once, I’ve been on the phone with Apple for hours and hours trying everything to fix it.

Not too happy right now but keep hoping it will get better.

I’m not having those issues.

Your first one was a dud, and so is your second. Try again a third time. But definitely the QC at Foxconn has declined over the years

My iphone xs max is performing admirably. Bluetooth works, wifi is super fast and I can't really fault anything. I get reception in the basement which wasn't the case for my old 6 plus. The only problem is the price and I don't think it's worth the price I paid for it. Price aside, I think it's the best phone on the market right now.

Sorry to hear your Max hasn’t lived up to your past experiences with Apple products. It’s very possible you’ve just gotten some defective devices so my suggestion is to get a replacement and start from scratch to eliminate any hardware or software issues. I skipped the Xs and Max this year and kept my X and it’s been a great device. Many say the Max is the best phone they’ve ever owned so I think you’ve just had some bad luck..

My XR is very OK on Wi-FI.

The Bluetooth has always worked correctly in my 2019 VW, including CarPlay.

I haven't replaced my phone and I love it.

I'm sorry that your iPhone is plagued with issues. Mine is not. I compared it's wifi and cellular speed in a variety of my typical usage areas to my X before the return period expired, and it performed admirably. Bluetooth works like a champ in my Jeep. If your device doesn't improve to your liking within the 14 days, don't hang onto it hoping that it will improve. No need to spend that much on a device when it performs poorly.

Maybe if you go through enough models, Apple could just give you a refund and you can wash this off as a bad experience? Or you can try downgrading to the 8+ and see if the Qualcomm modem helps your experience out a bit and get the difference back as a partial refund? If you want the XS form factor, go for the XR to have the same form factor more or less?

To follow up on this I finally got Audi to update my MMI (infotainment) system and so far after four days I haven’t had a single problem with the phone’s Bluetooth connection. I am much happier!

Thanks for all the comments.

Maybe go to a different Applee store so you get one from a batch far from the Apple store you go to.

I don't see this as being the Issue, I don't have an Audi and my connection problem is horrific as I have to pair my Max every other day.
