for the same price which one would you get -- a slightly used iphone xs max 256gb or iphone 11 64gb?
..why?

iPhone XS Max, because it’s a premium phone equipped with oled screen and a comparable hardware.

Not knowing more details, I’d say Max. Triple the storage capacity and telephoto camera lens. Not to mention OLED display. Not that the LCD on the 11 isn’t a great display, it is fantastic, some people prefer the OLED over LCD.

Max

The Max is worth at least $100 more than the 11, assuming there's no physical damage and all parts are original.

Personally I’d go for the Max if you like the size. Better screen and larger display.

If you dont mind the better camera get the max. The iPhone 11 is a good device with a very good screen but personally i would get at least 128 Gb. I prefer the ultra wide camera over the zoom lense and the new A13 processor but that is just my personal preference.

Depends on what’s important to you mate.

I absolutely love my XS Max 256GB due to the size of the screen and large amount of storage as I download most of my media for when traveling. Also the 2X Optical Zoom comes in handy.

But on the other hand the iPhone 11 has the better Camera Sensor along with a Wide Angle Lense, more compact design, more powerful A13 Bionic chip is also more efficient and better battery life.

What is important to you?

I would say the Max if I could live with its size. On the camera front, I think for me the X2 lens is more useful than the wide angle, but the better low light capability of the 11 is intriguing.

11 ! I dont like Oled screens they looks like yellowish
Yeah, I had to go into Accessibility - Display and Text size - Color filters. Took work. I still like LCD for iPhone better.

The photo shows it a bit blue but my eyes see it as white. It took a bit of work but my first 11 Pro Max was terrible. The colors were muted and it was not uniform at all.

Apple swapped it out.

Don’t base your decision on ‘value’, ask yourself what would the iPhone 11 offer you that you would find more attractive over the Max. Personally, I like Apples LCD panels, I don’t have an issue with their OLED displays, [as they’re using Samsung as a supplier for the Max].

I actually had a similar situation, I was looking at swappa since a lot of good xs max deals were popping up for same price as the 11, I ultimate end up getting the 11 due to

smaller phone so easier one hand handling
Night mode camera, the xs camera wasn’t that much better than the x was replacing tbh,

coming from oled the lcd on the 11 is actually really good, don’t really miss it.

I have intensity at about 40% and hue the same, also reduce transparency and increase contrast on, everything else in those settings off except auto-brightness.

i used similar settings on my Xr lcd, nothing is perfect out of the box lol

My 7 Plus was. So is my 9.7 Pro 2016. I'm returning an iPad Pro 12.9 2018 tomorrow because I don't want to play with filters again like I had to on my Pro Max. I've never had to adjust on any LCD panel and I'm not going to start doing it now.

What do you think the settings are for? not everyone likes the same, some like more white or blue or yellow.
More like buyers remorse or change of mind, no reason to return lol.

When an LCD panel is yellow without true tone, it's a mess. For a $1200 device? Yeah, no thanks. Pass.

Apple is still relatively new to the OLED territory, so I'll be patient with the quality control. LCD? They have had a very long time on this.

I shouldn't feel like I'm downgrading while dropping that amount of money. It wasn't buyers remorse, it was me comparing my old device to the new one and my eyes screaming.

What’s really happening is that the 2018 Pro’s white point is closer to 6500K, in essence perfect white. The 9.7 Pro is around 7000 which appears cooler in comparison.
