Got an XS to size down but didn’t return my Max yet. Either way, both are great options and it’s amazing to think their smallest device is still a beautiful 5.8” screen.

Started off with preorder for the XS model. Canceled and bought the Max on launch day. Used the Max for the week and was kind of torn between the size of the XS and the Max. Decided to go down to the Apple store yesterday and compare the two. Couldn't believe how small the XS model felt when holding it. Stuck with the Max. With that said I think the XR might be a good size for those in doubt.

Both are great, that's true. But when I picked up the Xs, it looked so small, even after a day. I tend to keep the Max because it offers more benefits..we'll see it in a few days

Caudabe the Veil XT is easily my favorite case. Very minimal but decent enough to feel comfortable placing the phone down anywhere. Not great if you drop your phone often. Adds zero bulk though.

I love the Caudabe veil as well. Always order one with a new phone. There is also a brand called Tozo on Amazon that is half the price of Caudabe and Totallee and just as good.

For sure it feels small after using the Max, but the X used to feel perfect in a way I struggle with the Max personally. Sitting at home or work, it’s a non issue. But walking fast in Manhattan, standing on the subway, walking with groceries/coffee/etc, the XS suits that mobile living a bit for me. But who knows, clearly can’t bring myself to return the big one yet.

Yea the texture is nice and it always fits perfectly. I ordered a Totallee one because Caudabe didn’t have their new ones out when I ordered and I didn’t like it at all. I’ll check out the Tozo ones thanks!

I use Reachabilty a lot, as well as using the left-sided keyboard option, when using the phone one-handed.

I love my Xs Max, had the 6+ 6s+ 7+ and then went back to smaller screen with the X, now im back with the bigger screen and couldn’t be happier!
I still go back and forth between the X and Xs Max and yeh the X feel really small now, but i will say that apps looks nicer sharper on the X mainly because not all apps are optimized for the new Max screens...

I'm happy with my Max, even though it took days to download my Google Play Music playlists.

Just to let you know that the Tozo brand is more of a smooth finish and different than the Caudabe. I have never purchased a Totallee but I think the Tozo is more of a Totallee knock off. I haven't seen any other cases like the Caudabe.

now that i'm having screen issues, its giving me seconds doubts as to the size again and whether i'll return it entirely, exchange for a XS or wait another year. I have the same issue where I love the screen but pocket ability is coming back into mine. Its just really hard to go from a 7+ to a XS size screen. Its feels too small and narrow. Im starting to think that maybe 6.1 size of the XR is the sweet spot i've been looking for all along, but unfortunately I dont like colored phones because I think they look cheap, I dont want to sacrifice the camera, and I like the stainless steel and glass finish of the phone. I also realize apple always puts be in-between making a decision. the 13 inch MacBook pro screen is too small for me but then it has the added benefit of being able to travel around with it. 15 inch MacBook pro gives me the screen I need but gets annoying to travel around with I always find myself in this position lol.

Honestly with each day I’m coming to love it more and more. I had a slight dislike for the OLED screen at the start (now used to it completely) and now I’m comfortable with the gesture control and faceID (two feature i was very very unsure of before) I cant imagine ever going back to a “conventional” iPhone with a home button.

Kudos to apple, they really have done an excellent job after to many lacklustre years (iPhone 6-8), this is THE phone IMHO, hands down the best on the market.

See no reason why I won’t be using tongue happily for 2-4 years (as long as Apple don’t start de-tuning it’s performance with “updates”)

Definitely helps but the weight catches up to me after a bit. The actual dimensions are fine, but the sense of relief is weight related. But landscape use and the one handed keyboard plus reach ability all help.

Yea I feel like I tried the Tozo ones and I wasn’t a fan. I know what I’m getting with Caudabe so I’ll stick with what I got. I do like the grippy matte feel.

Try the Totallee case?

I also watch my media, Netflix, YouTube on my iPad but on the Max it is also awesome! I think the Max is a bit too heavy and I hope I get used to it

So in not much of a surprise to my family and friends I went back to the Max today and I don’t think I can go back lol!

Yeah and switched back just 4 hours after deciding to return it lol

I think a good choice, but why you switched back?

I was wrong. The big screen is great for more than just watching video. It’s great for typing, battery, navigation, browsing, taking pictures, using with two hands, etc etc etc

I’ll still use my bigger screens at home for the vast majority of media and that’s fine.

I thought I would be fine with the Max. I absolutely loved my X! I previously had a 7 plus so I figured I would get used to the larger size. Mistake! I exchanged for the XS today and am happy I did during the 14 day period. I don't know what I saw in the 7plus before. The XS is the right size for me.

I played with both in the store for some time. I finally convinced myself i could get used to the Max. I do a lot of photography and being able to show people photos etc just look amazing. So I got the Max..... after 5 days of 'living' with it Ive decided to return it and get the XS.

Yes, its a great screen. But handling it for everyday use while your out and about is slightly annoying at times. I always know its in my pocket whereas previous phones got carried without any conscious feel. I like to cycle and always carry my phone in my back jersey pocket when I do so. I had my first ride yesterday and I could feel it pulling on my jersey. Its a slightly more comfortable size when its naked but I always use a case and even a slim Spigen pushes it to a more uncomfortable width.

I went back to the store and tried the XS today now knowing how the Max really feels and it was kind of a relief. That relief was my answer. The screen is still amazing, my photos still look terrific etc.... but I can do 'life' things and still get all the benefits the new model offers.

To each their own as always.... I think if you want to get out and about, be active and want your phone to fit in to your lifestyle then the XS is potentially better. If your avid watcher of movies and spend more time doing things indoors then Max may be worth it to you.
