Even though your processer is slowerI've been saying my S9+ is faster than anyone of my families X. Doesn't matter using LTE or just moving among screens and apps.
This is my speed on cellular with a 256GB XS Max.
???At signal levels below -120dBm (around zero and one bar of reception), the iPhone XS Max becomes more competitive with the Android phones using the Qualcomm X20 modem, but at the lowest signal, the Qualcomm X20 modem outperforms the Intel modem in the new iPhones.
Yes I am here’s another taken just now.Are you in the UK? Anyways, sitting at my desk in downtown San Francisco I'm seeing 28.9 Mbps down and 26.6 up using AT&T on a Xs Max. Multiple tests yield similar results. I forgot what I was getting when I had the X.
So the intel modem is capable of much more than those charts showView attachment 791217

I’m north of Toronto - we definitely don’t get those numbers!
You are conflating one type of speed for another. LTE is the only thing your S9 does faster than an XS/max. Or are you comparing a new Samsung against a year-old Apple? That would be about par for an Android fan trolling Apple sites.

Following what Apple does? You mean like Apple's lead in offering large screen smart phones?I hope there will be more things like this. We need competition and we need it more and more. Right now everyone is following what Apple does. It would be nice to have a shake up so Apple would try harder and overall the market would benefit.
How about processor performance?
While I always welcome increases in performance I have to ask: Does processor speed really matter to the majority of the people buying these phones? For that matter does the connection speed really matter? My cable provider keeps trying to convince me to purchase their higher speed plans when what I've got is perfectly adequate, probably overkill, for my needs. Seems smart phone processor performance is more about bragging rights than anything else. How about processor performance?
I seem to remember not so long ago a Front Page article where the S9 was beaten by the iPhone X.
Dying to see a S9 to XS comparison.

Or you could just give credit where credits due.Difference so minimal you won't notice it at all in the real world. In fact, it's so small that you're likely to have enough impact in the real world that it could easily be the other way around with a Note 9 outside of a strict test environment.

Bravo Qualcomm.
See, that wasn’t too hard.
Fixed it for you.
Apple has made component/design choices for years that lead to worse signal/data speeds. So yeah bravo Samsung for not making the same stupid choices.
