I personally think it was a combination of the battery and the cellular radio being defective.

Through the wall charger and comp, it would take forever or close to never to fully charge. If I turn on Airplane mode, it charges fine and doesn't get super HOT.

I just hope this thread can help others with the process of getting a replacement device, if they have the same symptoms and defective hardware. Things were so much easier before they relied on this new ver of their diagnostic tool.

It still is easy. Your issue with Apple is an exception not the rule. I've yet to have any issues with their support for many years and don't know anyone who has. I still think there is a lot more to this story that was not divulged. However it is over now.
 
Might as well update to show the fully broken in and running at full capacity battery readings I got mid last month in July

It still is easy. Your issue with Apple is an exception not the rule. I've yet to have any issues with their support for many years and don't know anyone who has. I still think there is a lot more to this story that was not divulged. However it is over now.


I agree with this. I have more problems with 3rd party, Apple Resellers, pretending they are Apple experts when they don't know diddly.
