Ya I just tested too on my plus and noticed nothing. Perfect black

when it was perfect black then you made something wrong. You should not cover the lens, you need to see a bit of the room or whatever you filming on the screen like moonshine or slightly more.

I was not covering the lens. i just meant I did not see any defective pixels

Hello everyone,

When I go to the camera and select Slo-Mo it introduces these little annoying flickering pixel artefacts that ruin the videos made with the mode. The easiest way I can show this is to take a screen grab of a black scene so you can see in the picture below.

I thought it might be a software thing as the normal photo, video and time lapse modes are all fine but after reset the problem is still there. It's not the screen either as the saved video files are effected.

that is not a software problem, its the sensor of your camera. the higher ISO you go the more visible the pixels. The question is are your pixels hardcore enough to appear at daylight :)

So is this a dead pixel? This appears only on slow mode video. Should I replace it?

no its not a dead pixel becuse it shines white/grey or blinks, dead pixels cant shine anymore :) like dead ppl cant walk. Its a hot pixel. Im not sure if i swap mine but mine is visible in daylight as well. On the other hand the replacement phone will have hot pixels as well i think.

So nothing to worry about! I will check tomorrow if is visible on daylight. Is visible on slow mode to you only?

Mine is visible even on light room if I target the camera on black t-shirt! But only in slow mode

yes only in slow-motion mode since the camera makes 120fps/240fps and that means fast shutter speeds and fast shutter speeds means less light coming to the sensor and the only way to compensate it is to push the iso high which means the sensor gets more sensitive to light. Yes i can see it also at daylight when a dark object is filmed, not in the bright parts. But its less visible

So only if I try to record a slow motion video I will face the problem?

Any other people have this defect? Will apple replace it?
Is it possible to get a new with not hot pixel at all?

Getting mine replaced by my carrier, see what that one is like.

If this also is a problem I'll take it to Apple and get a refurbished one. I can clearly see the 3 pixels during daylight so it's going to be a problem.

If I send it back for replacement (is an option as I order online from Apple store) will send me a new one immediate or I have to wait 3-4 weeks (expected delivery for new orders)

the risk of a replacement phone is always that you get a phone with other problems like scratches, dust inside the phone, bad buttons or whatever.

Hey folks.. Everyone who says that it's normal.. It's definitively NOT! As I've already said, I've checked 2 iPhones of my friends and they don't have that problem.

For all of you who say: oh it's not relevant in real life. It's actually is.. Check out my instragram slowmo-video:

It's not even pitch dark and you can clearly see the hot/dead/stuck pixel above my head. It's freaking annoying. I've got more of them, but THIS is visible every time..

So don't accept this sensor failure and exchange that ****.. My new Iphone arrives on tuesday.. I hope without dead/stuck/hot pixels

tested it on my buddy's phone aswell, guess what, his 6 also has it.

In slow motion mode?

After talking with Apple chat they told me that some users after restoring snd set as new, they don't face the problem yet. Is this possible?

I think you havent tested them right, sometimes i cant see it as well on my phone. Your pixel seems really aggressive. But this ambient light is enough in slow-mo mode to show those hot pixels. Nice pipe

Just tested it on my 6 Plus. For the first few tries, I couldn't see it. However, after turning my screen up to max brightness and turning the lights off in the room so it's pitch black (except with the tv running), I could just about make it a few white-ish flickering tiny 'sparkles'.

Not sure what to think. I don't think in real-world use it will affect me and I barely use the Slo-Mo feature. Should I get my phone replaced? :|

thats not possible

They told me many times that restoring might remove the problem!

If is not possible I will not restoring as I will lost my time

I am afraid almost all users will find hot pixel!!!
