It really blows my mind that we can take images with this kind of quality on a phone...
I wonder what the hell things are going to be like in another 5 years
Also, here is a video in 1080p of the rainstorm in Phoenix last evening.

I bought the iPhone 4 originally just for the camera without even a cell service. I got it just for the Wi-Fi capability of an Internet camera. It turned out to be an amazing experience. And I'm now very excited to have an iPhone 4S with cellular service.
I teach high school photography and told my students the other day that the iPhone 4S effectively killed point-and-shoot camera market.
Obviously for a wedding I'm going to take a suitcase full of cameras. But on today's field trip all I took was an iPhone and caught amazing photos.
When outshooting really nice photos I will still use the iPhone to take a photo to geo-tag the DSLR's photo. And also for HDR purposes I usually get in camera shots better than what I would have until I process the other camera shots which could be a long time if ever.
Question: what is the best low noise low light application?
A friend is using Average Camera Pro. But I wanted to find out if there was something else that was better. It seems to be fairly complicated to use because you have to take a lot of pictures.
I was really hoping the lowlight capability of the iPhone 4S would be a lot better than the iPhone 4 but it's not been that way yet.
Haven't tried it for myself but "Slow Shutter Cam" seems to be the most used, with some mixed reviews, apparently the better reviews say the have used a tripod while the others don't.
Can't personally recommend it but i figured i would at least give you an option.
Seems to me if you are using a tripod you defeated the point and shoot advantage of the iphone.
I hardly ever zoom, only when i'm taking a pic of the wife or the dog i tend to remember that there is a zoom
that's an awesome deck.. decks and the nice weather makes me not miss south fl so much
I took this one a couple of weeks ago..
Taken with 4S touched up with Camera + and then Big Lens

Depth of Field filter with Camera + doesn't work on this kind of shot.
Seems to me if you are using a tripod you defeated the point and shoot advantage of the iphone.
If you are looking for the "best" option in LOW light there is no way around it.. i agree thou, it would be annoying to be carrying around, but in reality no camera can really capture GREAT pics without some kind of slow shutter option.
But then again, if you are looking to take pictures with low light you should know better that no point and shoot would ever take a decent pic.
4s shots are so big, anyone know how to make a picture smaller size so i can post it on here??
Any tips for getting a shallow DOF with iP4s?On my wanderings on a cool fall afternoon I stumbled upon a neat little mushroom scape. I had both my 5D Mk II and my iPhone 4s and figured what the heck - an apples to oranges comparison.

So for me, the most important and critical camera is the one you have on you.
