Information pane is in the bottom left corner, click the little "i" with a circle button.

Yeah, I was having the same problem. My wife was getting really frustrated cuz I convinced her a Mac was the way to go. the workaround worked great. Now, if I can just show my wife how the Mac can do those mosaic pictures like Picasa...

I'm glad that my workaround worked for all of you.

On an interesting note iphoto started to work correctly for me yesterday. I didn't download any software updates or anything, it just started to work properly.

At least I don't have to jump through hoops anymore (for now).

Also brightness can be adjusted with arrows under the histogram. I find this is the best way to brighten it up. the middle arrow has most adjustment but left and right arrows help too.

It's a problem with helveticaNeue.dfont

So,

I think Events is a great addition to iPhoto. But, when I double click the Name of the event, I get the white box to type in....but no text appears...I can't name my event. They're all just stuck at the default name. I also tried to name the event down on the bottom left hand side where the info can be edited. no luck.

Anyone else not able to give a name to their events in iPhoto?

1)open spotlight and search for "helveticaNeue.dfont"
2)open up the font file in Font Book, and click install
3)restart!
"

I'm new to the Mac. I can get the font to be in the Font Book, but I cannot find an install command.

I'm not sure how I did (I'm at my Vista laptop @ work right now), but I think there was a button of some sort; or I just double clicked it.

Thank you to all for the event's naming solution. I thought I had a bug with the new iPhoto when in fact it's within this new keyboard.

I found another bug in the keyboard...

Can anyone see if they are able to type the : key when saving-as files? I keep getting a - dash instead.

Also I cannot get the magnification to work now.

Any suggestions?


EDIT: What I mean by new keyboard is Apple's new slim keyboard which I just picked up today. I finally have a keyboard that matches my mac! Also, by magnification, I mean in the dock preferences.

Wow, I just tried that with my keyboard and got the same thing! That is weird. I don't have any use for "saving as :", but it's pretty annoying, anyway.

By the way, when you installed your new keyboard, did you get the same "can't edit event names", as well? I'm trying to see if it is maybe the keyboard that is screwing everyone up.... just a thought

That worked PERFECTLY!!! I have been trying so many different things and got no help from Apple support. I am so relieved that this worked - many thanks!

(jmulls - just search spotlight for the helveticaneue.dfont, click it, then you should get a huge prompt to install. Just click "install" and you're done!)

I am having the same issue as well, however I have found a workaround that has worked for me.

1. Go to the Events page of the Library and open the information pane.

2. Single-click the Event that you want to change the name for.

3. The name will show up in the information pane and you can edit it there.

4. Once you have changed the name double-click the event to open it. (I had to do this or else the name would change back)

That's it. I'm hoping that Apple will patch this as it is clearly an issue for some people.

...it bugs me that the Events Name, date, no. of photos inside are kinda of bumping into the Event Cover.

yeah, that smells of bad design... not normally an Apple malady... must be a bug.

Ya I have the same problem too...I remember being able to change the event name the first time i used it...
The bug still persists even after the software update...

hope it gets fixed soon

iphoto Events Page

Hi Guys,
Having trouble with my iPhoto Events Page, the problem is I can't find it. When I start iPhoto my last upload page jumps up, but I can't find my way back to the events page. Any ideas?
