iPod newbie

Hey all,

I'm going to the States next week, and if i can find an iPod Photo 40GB, id like to get one. Would there be any issues with bringing it back into the UK at all??

Software?
Hardware?
Warranty?

Im new to this whole iPod thing, any info would be great!

Cheers,

FireArse

I wish there was some pictures of the thing in action, cause I just don't believe it looks as good as apple makes it look.

hey again,

i just looked through my cleaning supplys and i found three cans of brasso. some of the cans have different writing on them. one says multipurpose cleaner, and one says metal cleaner. is there any difference between them. .. or are they both the same stuff in a newer container. also could someone please provide detailed instructions for applying brasso. how much do you apply? where can you apply it? what kind of cloth do you use? ect... if you are looking to purchase it in Canada home depot has it in stock. also i am looking to sell my 10G ipod... it is not the really old one, it has the buttons bellow the screen aswell as the scroll wheel... how much do you think it is worth?

thanks again for all of your help.

could someone please reply to this topic... i need to know how to use it?

thanks again for all of your help.

To use Brasso (I use the metal polish) put some Brasso on a soft cloth (you don't want to use anything that may add to the scratches) then polish the iPod with the Brasso impregnated cloth.

how much do i apply to the cloth? how many coats do i apply? also... will the cloth get recked when i apply brasso to it? is a computer screen cleaner cloth good? also... can i apply it to the back of the ipod where the apple logo and the writing is? are you guys sure that brasso won't reck the screen or cause any damage?

thanks for your help.

much appreciated,
ipaqman

Don't worry the Brasso won't hurt the iPod, and is good for the screen, white plastic front and the metal back. I have no idea if it will trash the cloth, but I keep one just for Brasso and the iPod. I would dribble a little on the cloth, then rub on the iPod in the areas that are scratched. It may take a while to see noticeable improvements on badly scratched areas. However check progress as you go, I was careful not to rub over the laser etched logos on the back too much, but even when I did it did not appear to effect them.

is there any other substance that can remove those scratches. something that you can buy from a store, that is not online.

thanks,

ok this is a bit odd, but trust me on this one:

wipe the screen on your forehead. the oils will fill in the scratches

just do it. trust me.

ipod photo audio problem??

i Recently got two ipods, a 40GB color for myself and a Pink engraved for my mom and both have this problem, here is how i can tell

you play a song and then just simply pause it.

now turn the Volume all tha way to the top 15%. there in that top 15%-20% of volume bar i can hear a static noise when i turn the wheel

i can hear it pretty well when i just move my scrool wheel around (like a DJ Mixing) in that area.

can other people confirm if they have this problem if yes then we need to petition to apple

p.s. My brother blue Mini DOES NOT have this problem so there is a solution
