I bought a 32GB blue one spur of the moment when I saw the Macrumors story.

I quickly developed buyers remorse and I have requested a return of this to Apple without even opening the original box it was shipped in .... it's sitting here on my desk (delivered today) waiting to go back to FedEx and back to Apple.

If anyone missed out, make me an offer, I am bringing it to FedEx Monday to be returned to Apple. Highest bidder gets it.

Hope I am not breaking any forum rules (sorry!) but message me if interested ..

Too small. That Apple still sold such small iPods is probably why they didn't sell towards the end? I think they should have discontinued the smaller versions, and maybe just kept the 128/256 models, and done a small bump update. But then...

I was hoping for a flash based terabyte iPod that looked like the earlier larger ones. Make it a true 'collectors item'. They would sell like crazy.

Best Buy marking up the 32 to $229 and the 128 to $349. They are sold out of the 256.

Even the mini? Not trying to be pedantic. I haven't held a touch in a REALLY long time.

EDIT: Looks like yes, but just barely.

iPod Touch: 4.86 x 2.31 x 0.24 inches (123.4 x 58.6 x 6.1 mm)
iPhone mini: 5.18 x 2.53 x 0.29 inches (131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm)
Just barely? From those measurements, the Touch is 9.1mm shorter and 5.5mm narrower than the mini, and occupies just 70% of the volume. I'd call that substantially smaller. It's also a lot lighter weight. Having held both recently, the difference is very noticeable.

And 70% is just by multiplying the numbers together. The Touch actually feels a lot smaller, in-hand, because it's all rounded off in Apple's "bar of soap" style and gentle slopes on the back, where the mini is full thickness right out to the edges.

Well, the reason I asked was because I hadn't held one, which I did point out in my initial response to you. On paper, yes, it does sound to me like its just barely larger. Sounds like your experience is that it's substantial. Again, why I asked. ?‍♂️
