3G isn't coming and neither is a camera or microphone but a speaker and GPS are quite likely.

If Apple wants to expand the gaming aspect of the iPhone and touch platforms (and they do) they need a built-in speaker. If Nintendo or Sony attempted to launch a speaker-less unit how would it fare?

Also, it is in Apple's interest to have as many apps in the store usable as possible. The location based applications are in need of a GPS for the iPod touch. Fortunately this is an abundant, proven and affordable technology.
