Woohoo! Got mine! Ordered it on 12th September and arrived 23rd October but I'm a happy iPod touch owner.

Great news! Let us know about youe experience!
I have found out that especially when typing for an example emails in Gmail etc. in Safari it's easier to hold the iPod horizontally, you get bigger keys! Even though the actual screen estate is smaller in that occasion, I find it's easier to write that way.
Also a huge problem for me is that there is no ä or ö. Or æ or ø either.
Anyway, videos, photos, music and Safari are all amazing. I love to browse photos and music on it.
The Contacts and Calendar are also useful, if I don't have my cell phone anywhere near (which is rare). Anyway, the iPod has a big screen so it's nice to use, but lacking the opportunity to add events into the calendar is plain annoying. I've got my phone, computer and iPod all synced anyway, so I can add the notes on my phone. The world clock and timer get really handy at times, too. Anyway, it's a cool device!
Perhaps you can go to the Settings and change your keyboard layout from "international". I am not sure though.
...
Yeah, being unable to add events to iCal is surely very annoying. You can try the hacks available for that. I have not yet done that.
Didn't work....the international thing. It shows Chinese characters alright, nut not ä or ö, not in Finnish, not in Swedish. I mailed Apple about this.

Also, I'm not very eager to hack my touch. I like it better original than bricked![]()
One thing I remember I've had to ask. Do you feel that the Home button has to be pressed hard? The Home button works, but it feels a bit hard to press. It's not enough to press it so that it only clicks, but you have to apply quite a bit pressure on the button even after the click. Have you felt the same?
There are indeed å,ä,ö etc. You will need to keep that basic letter pressed for a second or so and a line of similar letter will appear. It is not very convenient at all though, makes typing long messages in local languages very slow. For example, if you want to type "ö", keep "o" pressed for a little.
The international keyboard setting might just be for dictionary purposes, but don't quote me on that.
Oh yeah, right. Now I got it to work. It's not the most logical way for me to use it, but I can manage somehow. I think you are right concerning the dictionary purposes.
