ah okay, thanks for the info, i was wondering how all of this was going to work, its a pretty good solution that they have come up with there, i wonder how many people will complain about it though?

I'm quite certain that you are correct here.

Seems like it's not exactly the same or as useful as the iTunes function. Turning compilations "On" simply adds another category ("Compilation") to browse by. It does not appear to remove those albums, or more importantly those artists, from the "Albums" or "Artists" browse lists.
I formatted and reloaded my iPod (for other reasons, but that's another thread. :)) and the compliations feature on my iPod (60GB photo) removes artists in compilations from the "Browse by Artist" functionality (which has been my biggest complaint for a long time), but not from the "Browse by Album" function (which is correct behavior, IMHO).

Wishing they'd add "Rating" to the browse list (yes, I've fed this back to Apple). :(
I've *never* used the Rating feature, but I imagine this would come in quite handy.
